Can you help a kitty?

I was at one of our rental properties today doing a final walk through and it seems the tenant either had a stray or pet kitty that was left behind. I didn't get any pictures yet, but can when I unload some from my memory card.

This kitten/cat is a small short haired gray cat with a small white patch on it's neck. The kitten/cat is very friendly and was very demanding of attention and extremely vocal.

I have spoken with SMAWL, but they are at capacity with cats but can offer a voucher for spay/neutering.

Is there anyone out there that might be interested in this little precious? I can't just leave her (him) there but I live in a pet-free zone.

Anyone?

Are you sure the cat doesn't belong to a neighbor?

Sorry, I meant to mention that. This particular property is in a VERY secluded area and I don't imagine there are any neighbors within a couple of miles.

Gosh, I think all the rescues are at capacity with animals. I hope someone can help this little guy or gal.
Sometimes I HATE (some) people. :cussing: How could you just leave a pet behind?

I am trying to get some pics off this memory card so I can go back and snap some pictures.

It does irk me that the tenant left this cat behind, pet or not. It was obviously being fed so IMO it makes it the tenants responsibility.

Really prefer you can get someone else (good home) to take this kitty BUT if you don't, we'll take it providing we can use the voucher for the spay/neuter?

But don't let us stand in the way of someone taking the kitty for a good home okay? We prefer to serve as the last resort. We went from the 2 adorable loving bonded pair that were recently adopted, to taking in a pregnant female who is now being fostered pending birth/kitten weaning then spay. Now the space is open briefly for the next one. If we can keep them moving into homes we can keep helping.

Here are two pics of the cat and her surroundings (just to show that there aren't any close neighbors). If she is yours, please pm me. If you are interested in her, please pm me as well.

Ark, I spoke with SMAWL and should you foster her, they will provide you with the voucher.

I agree - looks and seems like you are her only source of food and affection at the moment.

I swear she looks like a Russian Blue ! OMG I had a Russian Blue way back - beautuful cats. They sure do cost a lot to buy also - which is why I didn't end up with another one. The one I had was a rescue and they don't show up as rescues too often it seems.

I bet there are some Russian Blue fans out there that may want to take her in?

youre right- it just may be a russian blue

Appearance

The Russian Blue has a very distinct appearance and several unique identifiers. The easier identifiers are:

· Green eyes (not yellow, blue, or orange but a dark bottle green)

· Solid blue all over with just the tips of the guard hairs being silver and producing a shimmering effect. Domestic blue cats will lack this tipping and be a flat blue. There are no white or other color markings whatsoever, except for the occasional white locket on the throat (considered a disqualifiable fault)

· A thick double coat. The first coat consists of the longer guard hairs. The second is the undercoat, which is very soft and gives the Russian Blue coat its unique feel. Looked at closely, these fine hairs appear wavy

· Mauve footpads. Most domestic blue cats have slate gray pads

For more additional characteristics such as body structure, profile, ear placement, please see the Russian Blue breed standards at:

I just got blasted on another thread for bumping by replying to an older post to advertise that our rescue does pet sitting (was a pet sitting post - looking for pet sitters) .... is there some sort of rule saying it's not appropriate to reply to an older post? I actually didn't realize the date of the last post on that thread (5 months old) when I replied, so if the person who didn't like it had not replied to convey their pissed-off-ness (is that a word? lol) I wouldn't have realized it. So did I do something wrong?

How's the kitty home hunt going? I hope well.

The pregnant cat we are fostering gave birth yesterday to 6 kittens. I'm hoping that by mid-November we'll have enough homes lineed up for them all. I'll get pictures soon.

I have no clue about the bumping thing.

Anyway, I didn't get your pm until this morning (I've been away from the computer) but I did pick the cat up on Saturday and she is now living on a 14 acre farm. :yahoo:

Poor thing was still at the rental hanging out in the woods but she was so happy to see me and go to her new home.

Waa Hoo I'm thrilled ! I get down sometimes when it takes us months to place a critter, and I get so happy when we can do it fast. The faster we can place them the faster we can help more.

So glad it worked out so quickly!

I'm glad it worked out so quickly too. It broke my heart knowing she was out there with no shelter and no consistent food. She now lives with four others and they are all twins  Five identical cats these people have now :lmao:
