Just forget I said anything. This is so not worth the trouble it has caused! I'm sorry that I voiced my opinion about something. I know now to keep it to myself from here on out. Apparently I'm not allowed to find something totally rediculous.

Carry on! :jameo:

This was last Christmas. Woody was 5 months old in this pic.
Who could resist this?

The other one was recent.

Why are you :jameo: all of the sudden? I see nothing wrong with you starting this thread. You started the thread and stated your opinion then asked 'why'.... several of us responded with our opinion and gave an answer as to 'why'. You kept posting the same thing over and over and over again as if to try to convince us our opinion was wrong. You are the one who seems to be looking for an argument.

Some don't "give away" mixed breed puppies/animals because they have heard of sick people who take them only to do them harm. I think the thought behind it is if someone has paid for the animal that would be less likely.

To clear up the issue here. I called the number and this is the story that I got. The mother of the puppies is getting spayed with the proceeds of the litter and the litter was unplanned. They are keeping a stray dog and trying to make a better situation and be responsible when the neighbors were not.

I'm not sharing my opinion, but wanted to let you know what I was told when I called.

And as far as vet pricing, I breed show chihuahuas. My vet in Florida was cheaper than the vets here. My vet here is $40 for an office visit and then shots, etc. I do a lot of shots myself, but you have to figure that a puppy shot is $15-20 per puppy and worming/fecal is at least $20 at the vet. If she's truly paying for the spaying of someone else's dog, she's not making any money at all.

My information for what it's worth.

The bet bill is one part - the food bill goes crazy, not to mention all the newspapers that have to be changed, toys bought, time taken, good stuff ruined, having pups is not easy - ask wharf rat or Katie who haven taken in stray mommas. And yes, asking for money for a pup will dissuade someone who may not have the best motives for looking for a pup. When I bred my purebreds, and got more than $95 per puppy, it didn't "pay" all that was put into the puppies. JMO
