Strung Out
Anyone care to try explain this?
Horehound was used as cough medicine back in the day. My great-grandfather used to give me horehound drops when I was sick as a little girl. Apparently some demented souls actually enjoy it, for the nostalgia or because they like to torture themselves, so it's become a candy.
Well, I tried one yesterday and made it half way through before I'd had enough.
Good gawd.
Ever try salmiak?
What is it?
Salt licorice. High ammonia essence. I tried a piece at Licorice International when I was in Lincoln - I think you were with me. Made me paw my nose like a dog.
I must be one of those sick, demented people, I still use the cough drops to this day.
Taste like a cross between mashed crab shell juice that has been in the sun for a few days and something else I can't quite figure out...kerosene?
Maybe that's why it works on those coughs so well, it not only repels the germs it down right kills them!
