Can't find cat

I got stuck with an indoor cat 2 months ago- he was very shy and hid in strange places most of the time. Lately he has been more friendly and I normally get a 3am wake up of him jumping on my bed; but not last night. So, this morning I'm looking around and can't find him. I'm very careful about leaving doors open and he has never attempted to escape. I checked all his usual hiding places and no cat.

If by some chance he got out, do cats hang close to the house? I walked around outside this morning and no cat...

To my knowledge, he has never been outside and he has his claws.

He's a small tan cat.

check in any room where the doors aren't opened regularly. He might be stuck in a Cup Board, or a Closet too. Check the Basement. and the Garage, and even toy boxes if you have those around. Good Luck on finding him. Let us know where you find him!

maybe he went to mamatutu's to wake her up.

That happened to me once. Turns out i accidently shut her in the walk in closet, she was too busy rooting through boxes on the floor. She was found the next day when i saw her paw under the door, she stayed pissed at me for a few days.

good luck in finding him, if he did get out, maybe he close by.

Lost one of mine once and looked everywhere, finally I heard something under the bed, looked under, no cat, heard it again and realized, he was up in the box spring, apparently there was a small tear in the brand new box spring and that's where he managed to squeeze himself.

Some cats will tear all the fabric off the bottom of the boxspring. Don't know WHY they do it but they do!

Cats will find the strangest places to hide Stad EMS. Maybe shake some food in a dish inside your house while calling for the kitty. Also you can try this outside. Hope kitty turns up soon.

All I have to do is run the can opener and they all come running. Funny thing is, I never use a can opener for feeding them, they eat dry food out of a bag.

omg, that is so true! i use pop tops cans for my kittys. So how they know what a can opener is for is beyond me.

my one cat burrowed a hole in my box spring. Thats his favorite hiding spot!

Let me know if you need a replacement, I have a gray kitten that was a feral that I just had vetted (fixed and first shots).

I've searched the yard, the street and house several times. No cat... He looks like a small tan tabby, he is chipped with no collar.

Jut in case he did get out, I live on Baptist Church Rd close to Old Village Rd.

In My Opinion
had one of mine get stuck in the basement ceiling a couple years back,
I had to rip a hole in the sheet rock to get her back out.

if he is hiding in a place he can not get out of, lack of food would be a serious problem after a few days.

"Feline hepatic lipidosis, also known as feline fatty liver syndrome, is one of the most common forms of liver disease of cats.[1] The disease officially has no known cause, though obesity is known to increase the risk.[2] The disease begins when the cat stops eating from a loss of appetite, forcing the liver to convert body fat into usable energy. If this process continues for too long, fat builds up in the cells of the liver, and the disease has officially onset.[1] Prognosis varies depending on the stage of the disease, with both a high recovery and mortality rate at different stages. The disease is reversible through intense feeding.[3]"

:yahoo: FOUND!!!!!! :yahoo:

I came home late last night and found poop on the garage floor. The little bugger was hiding in a tiny space under the enclosed garage stairs.

He is very dirty, no issues other than that. Now I got to figure out a way to get him cleaned up- thick leather gloves and body armor!! I wonder if the vet would give him a bath when I bring him in for nail trimming?
