Can anyone recommend a cardiologist in Calvert - preferrably prince frederick area? TIA

i use Dr foster at patuxent cardiology. they are in the medical center just north of the bowling alley.
I like him alot, he actually remembers conversations you have with him, not just the stuff in the file. and he is realatively young.

My son sees a peds. cardio. He has to go to Annapoilis or DC to be seen due to how severe his condition is. Why do you need to be seen locally? Id rather travel far to have my son seen by the best.

cardio appt for myself - adult cardio. was scheduled to have surgery at CMH on fri, but at the pre-op appt, when they asked about chest pains, shortness of breath, etc.., and i answered "YES" to the questions, and then the flags started flying left and right. past surgery info showed complaints of chest pains as well... had previous EKG's done, never showed anything. never followed up with a cardio -- just thought it was whatever. so in this pre-op appt, they said i had to have an EKG done before they'd go forward with surgery. SO, had the EKG done the next morning, tech doing it in my PCP office said, oh looks okay... thought we were good to go. well, my dr. that was scheduling my surgery had to have a mtg with the OR staff at CMH i guess and the 2 cardiologists there wouldnt sign off on the EKG okaying me to have surgery on friday...without a full work-up, stress test and whatever else to see if there is something going on as to why i have the chest pains and shortness of breath. i've just attributed it to i'm out of shape... pain on exhertion SOME times,, not all the time...pain just relaxing too...so didnt give it much thought. the shortness of breath occasionally makes me wonder, but that's all i've done with it. so now i have to find a cardio - thought if i could get a recommendation for one locally, that's good. i dont know though.. i'm 37... family history full of heart disease and heart attacks... paternal grandmother had her 1st heart attack at 27 yrs old... lived til 85 yrs. mom had a heart attack 3 yrs ago at 57... aunts/uncles on both sides have all had heart issues - all under 60. ???

My boss uses Dr. Kushner at calvert Internal. He's thrilled with him, and my boss has had a heart attack, and quad bypass.

Wow! Thats awful! I know theres a place in Dunkirk as well. Not sure of the name but if Calvert Internal cant help they will refer you to another specialist.

I went to Dr. Kushner on a referral from my doctor in Calvert Internal. They performed the stress test at the hospital. Dr. Kushner was a good doctor - he was very patient and answered all my questions.

Just be prepared - my insurance charges an extra $25.00 co-pay because you are using the facilities at CMH. If you just go to a doctor's office and have it done, you will only pay the co-pay due to the doctor's office.

I use Bartosyk and Bertele, but they aren't in Calvert. They have offices in Waldorf and Leonardtown.

Bartosyk was a total scumbag when my husband was in St. mary's. His bedside manner s_________. He made inappropriate comments, definitely not necessary. I would never ever refer anyone to him. Bartele was decent but his partner was awful.

i had a heart attack in april 2008, 5 stents placed in my heart, i use kushner at calvert internal medicial and he had dr lee in wash hosp center do the stents. i am very pleased with kushner and his fellow associates at calvert internal. funny thing about mine was i wasnt felling good went to the er and they did an ekg said it was abnormal so i went to cathy helig at calvert internal and she sent me to have a stress test there at cmh, dr kushner did it and sent me straight to wash hosp center after 2 min on the treadmill, after i was admitted and my hubby had left to come home and take care of the kids, they said i would have the catherazation at 10 am the next day and i had a heart attack at 11:30 that night in the hospital. dr lee came in early and did the cath then and put in 3 stents made an appt for 2 weeks later for the other 2. i still have chest pains have had all kinds of test its not the heart, or gall bladder, im going the 23rd for a probe down the nose for 24 hours to watch the acid in my stomach.

dont over do it until you have the stress test you know your body so just take it easy, good luck thoughts and prayers, keep us updated

Interesting. I've had chest pains for about three years now and had the heart, lungs, gall bladder and just about everything else ruled out. I did have acid redflux, but they said that wouldn't cause the kind of pain I was feeling. They kept saying it must be a muscle/bone thing.
