i had a heart attack in april 2008, 5 stents placed in my heart, i use kushner at calvert internal medicial and he had dr lee in wash hosp center do the stents. i am very pleased with kushner and his fellow associates at calvert internal. funny thing about mine was i wasnt felling good went to the er and they did an ekg said it was abnormal so i went to cathy helig at calvert internal and she sent me to have a stress test there at cmh, dr kushner did it and sent me straight to wash hosp center after 2 min on the treadmill, after i was admitted and my hubby had left to come home and take care of the kids, they said i would have the catherazation at 10 am the next day and i had a heart attack at 11:30 that night in the hospital. dr lee came in early and did the cath then and put in 3 stents made an appt for 2 weeks later for the other 2. i still have chest pains have had all kinds of test its not the heart, or gall bladder, im going the 23rd for a probe down the nose for 24 hours to watch the acid in my stomach.

dont over do it until you have the stress test you know your body so just take it easy, good luck thoughts and prayers, keep us updated

okay, so the stress test went FINE... EKG didnt show a thing... Dr. Kushner pushed it to 16.% grade, heartrate at 180... held it there a few minutes... EKG showed perfect so let me go. so that's good news, but not sure other than being OUT OF SHAPE! why i'm having the shortness of breath -- said it could possibly be asthmatic issues.. hmm... so for now, i'm good that this didnt reveal anything serious with my heart :)) thanks to all who pm'd me.. i appreciate the care and concern. Dr. Kushner is a great doc... thanks for the referrals...

I use Varkey Matthew just past Plumb PT RD in Calvert. He's really thorough. Never had a heart attack, had aortic valve replacement 12 years ago at 29.

I know you prefer Prince Frederick

But... Dr. AK Shaw in the Bean Bldg in Hollywood kept my grand mother alive for 93 years after numerous heart attacks.

Not sure where you are on this but some things to think about...

Since the pain comes and goes you might want to make a log of what you are eating and note what you ate vs. when the pain pops up. Is the pain in the center fo your chest or right at the base of your sternum? My wife had gall stones and the pain is right at the base of the sternum. This comes when you eat fatty foods. The stress of the chest pains could be causing your shortness of breath. I was having chest pains, right dead center of my rib cage and thought I was having a heart attack. Turns out to be acid reflux. Didn't cause shortness of breath but just the stress of believing it was a heart attack threw me into a big panic. My dad had just gotten out of bypass surgery so I kind of flipped out about it.

Just a couple of things to think about. Hope you're well.
