I think this would only work for people like elaine, who have cars that they constantly baby and clean and probably wouldn't run their cars through one of these anyways....

Actually, I have a friend that uses those all the time and swears by 'em. He regularly shows his car and does well in stock/mild class shows (winning goes to the cleanest car). Of course, this is the same car that has over 100K on the clock and its literally always cleaner than cars on the show-room floor at stealerships.

I noticed today that not only did the touchless wash not clean my car, but it sealed the dirt on my car under a nice fresh coat of wax...
