Throw the cast iron away and buy Calphalon. :peace:

Chasey, the reason I'm looking into cast iron and stainless steel is because I keep hearing about how unsafe pans are that have non-stick coating in it. There are bad chemicals in them that get into our bodies. Do you know if Calphalons coating is like that?

Take a package of thump biscuits or cresent rolls and cover the entire inside of the skillet and cook according to directions. The heavy grease content of the rolls is absorbed into the pan.

And by all means, do NOT use soap on the skillet. The soap will remove whatever "seasoning" that you've done to it.

BadGirl-Are thump bikkits the ones that come in the round rolls and you thump them on the counter to bust it open?

That only happens if you leave the pans on nuclear. I use cast iron pans for things like steaks or fried foods and my non stick pans for everything else.

my momma brought me up cooking on nuclear....I've learned to tone it down a bit, lol. She still cooks on nuclear though.

You can get "safe" coated cookware. I opted for Green Pans. I really like them alot.

I really wish someone would take all these damn cookies away....... I have no self control.

BadGirl - cook this on stove or in oven? Should I pre-heat the pan before putting biscuits in it?
