I got the tallest ladder that I could find and climbed up, but I am still about 4-5 ft away from him. He just meows and does not climb down. Can I assume that he will when he gets hungry enough???

Ours stayed up in a tree for four days. I finally succumbed and called the fire department. They got him down. I gave them a nice donation.

If you have a cat bed your cat likes to sleep in.. try that.. I had to climb a ladder and hold the bed up and my kitty jumped right into it..

He can't be very far up then. Want to borrow my climbing tree stand? And yes they come down. Have you ever seen a cat skeleton up in a tree? :lmao:

Take an empty food can and tap it with a spoon like it's feeding time.

If that doesn't work, PM Gumby. His daughter is quite a good shot with a 20 guage. Don't tell Dixie though. :nono:

You could play the ampified sound of an electric can opener through outdoor speakers. That would get my cat to vacate the tree. Of course you may end up with a few animals that aren't yours. Also I think cats don't like snakes so if you got a big fat snake and flung it up the tree above the cat it would come down. :lmao:

You guys are sooooo goofy. I am NOT flinging my snake at my treed cat.

:killingme

My son will be home around 3. I am sure he can climb better than I can. The cat can wait until then. I just go and talk to him now and then so he knows he is not forgotten. Thanks, though, for all your advice, goofy or not.

If that doesn't work, just light the tree on fire.

Naahhh, the tree is way too close to my house. I may have some firecrackers, though..... :killingme

Do you have a hose with a nozzle thingy that squirts water as high as the cat is?

That might work, but it also might send it higher. How big around is the tree and does it have branches on the way up to the cat?

The tree's lowest branch hangs over my roof. Maybe 8 feet up or so. I go out every now and then and talk to him so he knows I have not forgotten his plight. My labs are in the back yard about 6 feet away. They are very amused by this. (They KNEW the cat was not superior, even though he insisted he was.) I have no hose on this side of the house.

I was just trying to figure if the climbing tree stand would work. Diameter and branches matter if you're interested. It's a safe way to go up a tree.

Oh I forgot about the diameter....I would say the tree is about 18-24 inches around. The lowest branch is probably about....12-14 feet up......

The branch he is on is about 5 feet above the lowest one....he can walk along it overtop of my roof, maybe 8 feet or so above the roof.....
