cat in a tree

My cat went pretty high up into a tree when she was a year or two old....had to call the fire dept and convince them to come help...and we made a good donation. Cats can't always come down once they climb up...

Take an empty food can and tap it with a spoon like it's feeding time.

If that doesn't work, PM Gumby. His daughter is quite a good shot with a 20 guage. Don't tell Dixie though. :nono:

I heard that. Seriously, though, they do climb down. I know a cat who walks across the roof line and shimmies down a tree almost daily. The first time it was a little offsetting, but now we don't even pay attention to him. :howdy:

It was so funny when they came to our cats rescue. Couldn't laugh of course and we did appreciate it. I thought that sort of helpfulness was ancient history. They came with a huge ladder truck and had to park in the driveway.
This got a bit of attention from the neighbors. The guy that went up was young and wearing street clothes, t-shirt, pants and no gloves. (?) Just before he went up he asked "is it a nice cat?" I told him "well, normally".
He got up to the cat which let him get him off the limb (surprise) before climbing up his arm over his shoulder and attaching itself to his back. We heard "ow, ow, ow". The bucket came down quickly at which point the cat jumped of the guy and ran off. We made an on-the-spot donation. Maybe he was a rookie and they told him real men don't wear protective gear for this sort of thing. :lmao:

Has anyone ever had their cat up a tree before?
