PEANUT IS SAFE IN THE HOUSE! We called a couple tree cutting companies and one responded. A guy showed up with a short ladder and ropes. He wouldn't give a price before hand and was freaking me out. He promptly started climbing, switching between two trees and put her in a bag. I thought it was pretty neat considering I hate heights myself.

Anyway, all said and done he charged $20! He said he normally doesn't respond to cat rescues but got the urge when we called. He said he's never seen a cat that high in his 28 years. Very nice guy from a company called Area Tree.

Awesome! One of my cats was brought down in a bag as well. The guy had spikes, and he climbed up and down the tree like it was nothing.

Now you can chime in if anybody has a cat stuck up in a tree.

$20? Wow! :high5:

Last year, my old neighbor across the street tried shooting his cat out of the tree with a BB gun at 6am after the cat had been there for 21 days, and 3 different tree companies told him to pound sand. Dayum cat was 60 some feet up in the tree.

Don't shoot at cats in trees in a residential neighborhood though. It pizzes off the other neighbors that might be trying to sleep still, and get woke up hearing that distinct cocking, and wierd shoot sound that a cheap BB gun makes and then can't get back to sleep due to the image that is burnt into their minds of seeing said neighbor shooting at said cat from his porch roof, in his PJ's over top of the nighbors house, toward other nighbors houses.

GAWD I'm glad those idiots are gone!

I'm glad your kitty is down from the tree & safe. :huggy:

It's been quite a few years, but my neighbor's cat was stuck in the tree between our houses. Mechanicsville VFD came out and climbed up the tree while we held onto a sheet standing under the tree. The cat fell out onto the sheet, and then took off and hid for a couple of hours (poor thing!). He was OK though, and they gave a donation to the dept.

I was surprised they came out (but glad they did), I had always thought that was just something you saw in the movies.

Was there any sign of harm or the reason the cat went up in the first place???

Glad to hear peanut made it out safely. :thewave: for the tree guy that only charged you 20 bucks. Hope he gets some good referrals for his good deed (other than plucking more cats from trees)

I left mine up in the tree for five days after the fire dept and humane society assured me they had never seen a dead cat in a tree.

Of course. Dead ones don't stay on branches so well.

My cat got down in a drain ditch once. Called BDVFD, they came out, took man hole cover off and we got him out. Hooray for them.

What's so bad about that? Replace "cheap BB gun" with "Beeman GS1000" and I'd do it

Cut the tree down..

No s***, I watched an uncle try that once. After 3 days he got tired of hearing my aunt and cousins whine about the cat, so he broke out the chainsaw. As the tree was falling, the cat jumped off and bolted up the next one. At that point, he said f*** it, cut the saw off and went back inside :lmao:

No harm intended but I'd be mighty upset ifn the FD was sending a tiller truck to rescue a cat and my house caught fire! :jameo:
