I have a cat that's about 3 years old recently she was diagnosed with a UTI she has taken all of her medicine and seems fine except she keeps peeing in the house.I recently had a baby do you think that could be a reason? she had never done this before I love my cat and don't want to get rid of her so does anyone have any suggestions ? also is there any type of cleaner you can use to get the ammonia smell out of the carpet ?

Clean the litter box. As in scrub it out with soap and water.
Put in fresh litter. Clean it every night.
Perhaps lock the cat in the room with it for a day or 2 to get them used to using it again and not give them access to the rest of the house for spraying purposes?

Is she spraying or just urinating?

The baby is probably a reason for the spraying. Kitty is jealous and putting her in the garage is making her angrier.

Google is a great resource to find a way to get the ammonia smell out. I used some combination of vinegar/baking soda and citrus spray.

Good luck!

I'm on my way out of work...I'll post more to you later but amitriptyline might be what she needs. It relaxes them...

you have to super clean those places where she sprayed then use natures miracle on them to remove the proteins .. vinegar works well also and will remove the smell....

my male cat was doing that also at the doors, i cleaned the spot with the carpet steamer, saturated it with natures miracle and vinegar steam cleaned again and when it was dry I placed something over the spot so that he couldnt get back to it

My cat has only sprayed in the house once ever. It was when I was out of town and someone was coming in the house to feed her everyday. Must have been a territory thing with the stranger coming in. My cat just isn't a team player.
