Catholics have a new Pope

In My Opinion
One thing for sure, with a south American pope, the landscaping around the Vatican should be just Heavenly.

Now, one may think this is an unchristian thing to say, however we are warned in the Bible about false idols, and we are also told that Jesus Christ is the way.
Never anywhere in the Bible does it mention that we have to kiss some old Italian (south American now) guys ring.

Jesus Christ is the way. Until Jesus Christ steps up as pope, I will be limited on my excitement over anyone else.

Cardinal Jorge Mario Gergoglio of Argentina

A full blooded Italian whose parents emigrated to Argentina. Born in Argentina makes him an Argentinian, for sure, but the Italian bloodlines keep European family dominance alive.

Diet or zero?:drummer:

I would say Zero.
You have to understand that the Jesuits order was organized “to stop Protestantism from spreading and to preserve communion with Rome and the successor of Peter

basically, If he leads the Catholic church as the Jesuit order would dictate, he is about to draw a line between the Catholics and the protestants (christian but non Catholic)
The end of time or one of the indicators is that Rome falls.
One could take that as falling as in war, or it could be taken as the Catholic church falls/fails to carry out its objectives. In this case the objective would be that the pope, or the Catholic church becomes the absolute church and everyone follows it. (Sound familiar? put towels on their heads and think about it)

There's no need for you to fear the Jesuits. The Dominicans on the other hand...

The Italian guy won because he made the cardinals an "offer they couldn't refuse"...

At least the guy's name wasn't Father Secola.

Can you imagine a ....

Pope Secola? (say it fast...)

As I recall, that suggestion appeared in Readers Indigestion Magazine back in about 1963 or thereabouts when Pope Paul VI was being selected.
