What exactly are the benefits of cat ownership?

Is it the allure of being able to keep a box of excrement in your home?
Perhaps it's the hair on all your clothes or the shredded furniture.

Not all cat people are hoarders.... but have you noticed, all hoarders are cat people

At least that is what the show 'Hoarders' seem to show

Get some of those silk thread wrapped balls and hang them low on the tree.
They'll hang up on their claws and provide hours of entertainment for the entire family

"Sacrificial Ornaments".

I did that when the ex had a cat in the house.

All animals are messy and shed to some degree. I have 2 cats, one a Maine Coon but I'm not sure that counts as a cat. She seems to think she is a dog.

My cats haven't bothered our tree. (keeps fingers crossed)

I love "the look" the cat in the tree gave her litter mate.

My cats, my male especially, gravitate towards the tree..it's so neat because I think it is some kind of primal instinct..:killingme The males goes and sleeps under it, or on the top of the couch beside it..Like it's where he belongs..he IS a norwegian forest cat..:killingme I guess a christmas tree is as close as he gets to a forest at my house.
