IRISH DRINKING SONGS FOR CAT LOVERS. . . COMING SOON ON CD!
Are you a Kitty Cat lover? Do you love to listen to Irish Drinking Songs?
Put together Cats and Celts and you have Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers, a CD for the wonderfully demented kitty cat fantatic. Listen to music you've heard on St. Patrick's Day or by The Dubliners, The Clancy Brothers, The Wolfe Tones, and the Irish rovers. Then laugh as all your favorite Irish Drinking Songs are rewritten with Cat song lyrics. Your love of Celtic music will never be the same!
I started singing Irish drinking songs when I co-founded the Brobdingnagian Bards. But I learned to write silly parodies from my dad. So when I was on the phone in 2003 and casually started singing a version of "Wild Rover" about cats, I had a revelation. I'll rewrite my favorite Irish songs with lyrics about cat.
Two years later, I'm nearly there. In March, I finished recording three songs to release a single, When Kitty Eyes Are Smiling (and other Cat Songs). You see, the trouble is it's no simple task raising six grand to record a vanity album. Record labels have no interest in cats. This is a vanity project for cat lovers by a cat lover. It may amount to nothing more than a few smiles from close friends, but I'm committed to completing this CD.
In fact, I hired an amazing Japanese producer to help me accomplish the task. His name is Ari Koinuma, and he's another cat lover. He's helping me to create an amazing CD. Right now, we plan to finish the CD by August 1st. That way we can release it officially in October. (though pre-orderers will get it as soon as I get it back from the printers)
If you'd like to find out how the recording is going, subscribe to my cat Torre's Cat Drinking Tails or read my Cat Music Blog. There's always something interesting going on in each. And for that matter, you'll find out when I write new songs.
Yeah, I know. It's weird, but I'm still writing songs even though I won't be able to record all the ones I've finished. At this rate, I might end up having to make a second album at this rate. But first lets see how well this album does. Hey, know any cat companies who might like to sponsor a CD?
Ah well, if you're a cat lover like I am, I sincerely hope that you find Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers to be an absolute joy. And if you're not a cat lover or hate Irish drinking songs, I hope to change your mind.
