Republicans Move to Shut Down Chinese Police Stations Operating In the U.S.

“The Chinese Communist Party should have never been able to operate police stations in the U.S. to surveil American citizens and harass Chinese citizens who have fled the Communist regime,” Hinson said in a statement. “We should find, prosecute, and sanction any Chinese Communist Party official involved in standing up police stations on U.S. soil.”

She added that the act would “finally hold the Chinese Communist Party accountable for such egregious violations.”

The proposed legislation would target individuals and groups running Chinese police stations in the U.S. with sanctions, asset freezes, and visa restrictions. It would also target those working under the direction of the United Front Work Department, the CCP's arm responsible for global influence operations that involve intimidation and harassment.

One of the most well-known Chinese police stations operates in New York City, managed by China’s Ministry of Public Security, which oversees domestic policing and surveillance for the Chinese Communist Party. In 2023, the FBI arrested two individuals connected to the station. One of the defendants, Chen Jinping, pleaded guilty to working as an unregistered foreign agent for China, while the other, Lu Jianwang, still faces federal charges.

Federal Agencies Find ‘Horrific’ Conditions at Chinese Factory Near Atlanta

Three Wellmade Industries officers were arrested, including company owner, Zhu Chen, his nephew, Jiayi Chen, and company associate Jian Jun Lu.

At the bond hearings for the suspects, assistant district attorney Austin Waldo claimed that officials of the company immediately confiscated the workers’ travel and ID documents as soon as they arrived at the plant to make it harder for them to leave.

Prosecutors also say that the workers were required to work 12-hour shifts and then were not allowed to leave the plant or the rooms they were being housed in.

“This operation underscores our steadfast commitment to combat labor trafficking and hold accountable those who exploit vulnerable individuals for profit,” Special Agent in Charge Schrank said in a press release. “The arrests of Zhu Chen and Jiayi Chen, along with the rescue of numerous victims, reflect the tireless efforts of HSI and our law enforcement partners. We will continue to leverage all available resources to dismantle these criminal networks and bring perpetrators to justice.”

Schrank also said that dozens of victims employed at Wellmade Performance Flooring were rescued from labor exploitation.

Despite that China is one of our most dangerous, self-avowed enemies, Joe Biden allowed a record number of Chinese nationals to illegally enter the U.S. during his disastrous four years in the White House. Last December, it was estimated that more than 176,000 had entered the country, many of whom present a national security threat.

Since taking office, the Trump administration has initiated a record number of worksite enforcement cases.

A recent X post from Immigration and Customs Enforcement notes that “ICE HSI arrests 1,000+ illegal alien workers and proposes nearly $1M in employer fines since Jan. 20 as part of its worksite enforcement mission.”

“Employment records subpoenaed from about 1,200 businesses,” the post added.

Chinese influence is leaving California dangerously exposed

Recent revelations that the University of California received massive donations from organisations linked to China’s Communist Party — including a $220 million investment in Berkeley’s joint research project with Tsinghua University — may have elicited a harsh reaction from the Trump administration. But it should not come as a surprise to anyone who has followed the state’s increasingly dependent relationship with China.

For a generation, California’s political and economic elites have been eager to abase themselves for Chinese money. This started under Jerry Brown, who assiduously worked to maintain close ties, but his successor, Gavin Newsom, has gone further, welcoming links with groups controlled by the Communist Party.

Newsom, of course, was the first US Governor to visit China in four years. In 2023, the Governor went to Beijing to kiss the ring and explore “collaboration” with the Communist regime, pleading for statewide carveouts from China’s tariffs. Then a month later, Xi Jinping visited San Francisco, where Newsom and the rest of the state establishment gave him a standing ovation.

This royal treatment might seem odd considering how critical Newsom has been of other “dictators”. Over the last eight years, the California governor has repeatedly attacked Trump over his alleged threat to democracy. But he remains curiously silent on the world’s most powerful — and fascistic — authoritarian regime. To this day, the California Governor has continued to send fraternal missions to China, partnering with organisations controlled, like much of everything, by Communist Party operatives. Clearly, there are some double standards here.

Such subservience makes sense given an economic relationship that already resembles a classic colonial tie. China runs a roughly $107 billion trade surplus with California, and the disparities in such things as electronic machinery are immense. California fares better with services, notably software and other tech licenses as well as universities, but this only amounts to $5 billion.

This dependency may alarm some in Washington, but it conforms to the preferred style of many California progressives. Free trade plays to the state’s deindustrialisation and climate agendas, raising prices inexorably on California companies and households. Even during the Biden years, California greens opposed tariffs on Chinese EVs and some have sought to “take out” Tesla, the only EV-maker producing in the state.

The Chinese admit that Joe Biden’s weakness fed their trade depredations

By Andrea Widburg

In his press conference about the 90-day trade deal he reached with the Chinese, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant, in less than a minute, threw in a small detail about Joe Biden’s presidency that speaks volumes. First, it reveals how utterly feckless Joe Biden was and, second, it reveals how America benefits from a manifestly strong president.

Here’s Bessant explaining that the groundwork for the deal was already laid by the agreements reached with China during Trump’s presidency, deals China unilaterally ignored because it rightly understood that Biden was too weak to matter:

Chinese Payment Firm Probed by FBI Has Biden-Linked Backer

For example, Breitbart News has learned that PAX Global Technology Limited., a Chinese technology company under federal investigation for suspicious data transmissions and potential cyberattacks, is linked through ownership structures to Che Feng — a Chinese financier closely tied to Hunter Biden. The company is still operating in the United States, creating and managing the electronic payment terminals consumers used at thousands of U.S. businesses.

In October 2021, the FBI, in partnership with Homeland Security Investigations, Customs and Border Protection, Department of Commerce, and Naval Criminal Investigative Services, raided the U.S. headquarters of PAX Technology Inc., a Florida-based subsidiary of PAX, over concerns about the company’s payment terminals, which were allegedly secretly funneling data to unknown overseas destinations.

“The investigation remains active and ongoing and no additional information can be confirmed at this time,” an FBI official told Bloomberg News after the raid.

KrebsOnSecurity reported that a trusted source confirmed PAX’s technology was being used for malicious intent. Per the outlet, “the payment processor found that the PAX terminals were being used both as a malware ‘dropper’ — a repository for malicious files — and as ‘command-and-control’ locations for staging attacks and collecting information.”

While PAX has denied wrongdoing, a letter from the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Cybersecurity and Critical Infrastructure Protection (OCCIP) obtained by Bloomberg in 2021 corroborates the federal concern around the matter.

Legal Insurrection readers may recall my previous reports on Salt Typhoon, the codename for a sophisticated Chinese state-sponsored cyber espionage group, believed to be operated by China’s Ministry of State Security (MSS). The group had previously hacked into American internet provider systems, the US Treasury, and Trump-Vance campaign telephone systems.

According to a late April 2025 interview with Brett Leatherman, FBI deputy assistant director of cyber operations, Salt Typhoon remains active. The group is still considered a threat, and while affected telecommunications companies have reported that the actors have been “contained,” there is no confirmation of full eradication from all networks.

There are other “Typhoon Groups,” including Volt Typhoon, an advanced persistence threat group specializing in cyberespionage and cyberwarfare. Its primary focus is on targeting critical infrastructure in the United States and its territories.

U.S. Officials Identify ‘Rogue’ Communication Devices in China-Built Solar Power Units

The European energy market is even more dependent on solar power and Chinese products, and officials there are alarmed by the U.S. team’s discovery.

The European Solar Manufacturing Council (ESMC), the body which represents the interests of some Europe-based PV companies, said that: “With over 200GW of Europe’s solar capacity relying on these inverters—equivalent to more than 200 nuclear power plants—the security risk is systemic.”
In a LinkedIn post, it called on the European Commission (EC) to examine the “risk potential for sabotage and espionage” of manufacturers of components that can “significantly influence the behaviour” of the European grid. It also called for “rigorous audit and validation tools” and a fully transparent software bill of materials (BOM).
The ESMC and fellow trade body SolarPower Europe have been ramping up calls for greater cybersecurity protection for European inverters. Earlier this month, the ESMC called for a restriction for remote access to inverters from “high risk” Chinese manufacturers.

Leatherman has this update:

Volt Typhoon is still active. Salt Typhoon is still active. As far as being in the networks, for Salt Typhoon, that’s a hard question for me to answer because the telcos themselves continue to look in those networks. The telcos have indicated to us, and publicly, that they’ve contained the actors. Until they’ve indicated they’ve eradicated them, there’s a presumption they could still be in the networks.
For advanced persistent threats like the Typhoons, their goal is to establish persistence. They’re very good. They’re state actors who have tremendous money and resources behind them. Once they get into an environment, they don’t want to rely on the vulnerability that got them in there all the time; they want to set up alternate ways to get in. That’s what the companies and the threat mitigation firms are doing, trying to identify were there areas of persistence that they were able to obtain for later use and stay in the environment.
Our confidence right now is that we have eliminated their ability to have a substantial impact against United States critical infrastructure. But we do know that they continue to seek positions, not necessarily in critical infrastructure, but on end-of-life legacy devices. Our goal is to prevent them from getting to the point where they amass that kind of access.

It is clear that China will use “any means necessary to spy on, steal from, or strangle our nation. Decoupling from their electronic and energy equipment is critical to our security.

How the Chinese Regime Uses YouTube to Influence Americans

“[The CCP] has manipulated the public opinion space, especially on YouTube, in the past two, three years, to really focus on using foreign faces, and not people from China ... to try to legitimize their claims,” David Zhang said.

Zhang runs the “China Insider With David Zhang” channel with more than 1.3 million subscribers and previously hosted a news program at NTD, a sister outlet of The Epoch Times.

The CCP uses influence operations as part of its unrestricted warfare doctrine, with the goal of deposing and replacing the United States as the world’s leading superpower. In contrast to regular propaganda, these influence operations usually don’t disclose their connection to the regime.
Wen Tzu-yu, a Taiwanese YouTuber who recently co-produced a documentary on CCP infiltration of social media, said that “propaganda is crucial for the CCP’s power.”

“The CCP built itself up with propaganda before it took up the guns,” he told The Epoch Times.

Oh, Harvard. Yesterday, the Wall Street Journal ran a story headlined, “Harvard Has Trained So Many Chinese Communist Officials, They Call It Their ‘Party School.’” Veritas! Harvard has become Animal House for Marxist dictators. If you want to rush, see Dean Lenin, M.P.A. ’06, or house mother Mao.

image 7.png

The Journal marveled that China’s communist party prefers to send its officials to US institutions for governance training. What does it mean when our premier colleges are the top finishing schools where up-and-coming communists learn how to be better Marxists?

Most humiliating of all, Harvard has become the new home of Alpha Kappa Marx, the revolutionaries’ party-school pick:

image 8.png

Not coincidentally, the story also reported that last Wednesday, Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the Administration will soon severely restrict visa applications from China, and “aggressively revoke visas for Chinese students, including those with connections to the Chinese Communist Party or studying in critical fields.”

🔥 According to the story, Harvard-trained comrades include Xi Jinping’s top trade negotiator, a former vice president of China, and several sitting Politburo members. In 2010, President Xi’s daughter even attended under an alias. While her daddy prepared to rule the world’s largest dictatorship and assume the reins of America’s geopolitical enemy, get this: Harvard helped hide her.

“Harvard administrators and some faculty members,” the Journal coolly reported, “were aware of her identity.” Thanks a lot, Harvard.

While American manufacturing collapsed, IP theft soared, and the U.S. lost entire sectors to China’s strategic trade practices, America’s top universities enthusiastically invited CCP officials into the inner sanctum— training new communists in public policy, governance, negotiation, and national development.

Presumably, they weren’t learning about how to run capitalism.

We didn’t beat communism. We’re exporting it! We professionalized it, credentialed it, and sent it home dressed in Ivy League robes sporting red berets. Today’s CCP technocrats don’t carry little red books—they carry Harvard diplomas and PowerPoint decks from the Ash Center for Democratic Governance.

The truth is that the Trump Administration is fighting fiercely to disclose the unavoidable truth that the West is no longer containing Marxism. It’s rebranding it, polishing it up, and handing it off like a Subway franchise model.

In other words, it’s been lies all the way down. The same schools that have long claimed to stand for “liberal democracy” are actually training the next generation of Chinese Communists— on how to outcompete liberal democracies using our own tools against us.

Nor does the academic tolerance extend both ways. In Democrats’ America, if you’re a domestic dissenter —say, a parent questioning school boards, a scientist skeptical of pharma funding, or a Facebooker posting unapproved memes— you’re labeled a threat to democracy, deplatformed, and probably put on a watchlist.

But if you’re a high-ranking Chinese Communist official, you’re no threat to democracy at all. You get a Harvard fellowship, a guided tour of the State Department, and trained seal-like applause from the Kennedy School faculty for your “innovative governance.”
