I have not received a letter yet.
I got a letter some time ago and contacted dmv and they said that it may not be implemented, oh well, I guess the idiot that told me that needs to be implemented with a brain.

He works for the MVA/DMV....do you really think there is any type of intelligence level there?
every doctor that I've gone to in the last 10 or so years has always had the forms
Every time I have been at the DMV, I have asked the question: do I need to keep a medical if I am not driving comercially? NOT ONE person has been able to answer the question! I know that commercial driving jobs require a current medical and I figured if I ever drove again, I would just get it. And since there has never been rule (that I was aware of anyways) to send paperwork to the DMV proving I had it, I let it lapse a year ago.
Recently I read somewhere that the police will give you a ticket if you have the CDL w/o a medical. A few deputies come through my store and I have been waiting to ask one for an explaination of the law and if the above is true.
Question for all that have received the *letter*? What are you supposed to do to prove to DMV you have a medical? Take them proof? Mail it? Special form to fill out? How much does it cost for them to file the paperwork?!
Bottom line: I had a B license for about 10 years before I got my A license. I worked hard for the A and don't want to lose it- even if I never drive truck again. I will follow the rules if I know what they are!

I was told long ago that I would only be ticketed for not having a current med cert only if I was driving a vehicle that required the CDL at the time. But I would take that with a grain of salt; nothing necessarily consistent about how all the various LE agencies interpret or enforce anything.
Back to the topic: I went to Winters Chiropractors in Leonardtown yesterday. Walked out with the Med Cert in hand barely 20 minutes after I arrived and only 75 bucks the poorer for it. Keeping my A license is assured for a couple more years at least.![]()
Thanks for the info. Did they have the paperwork or did you have to take your own? Where is Winters located?
They have the paperwork right there. Winters is in the red brick "professional building" that is closest to Rt 5 and about smack dab in the middle of the McKays/Food Lion shopping center complex. Their actual entrance is on the side of that building opposite Rt. 5.
