Cervical Cancer

I was diagnosed with Adenosquamous Carcinoma in February 09. I had a Radical Hysterectomy March 10th. The worst of it has been, the daily trips back to Calvert for brachytherapy.

I've been lucky to have High-dose rate (HDR) implants. I have treatment twice a day for 5 days then we break and re-test.

Healing from the hysterectomy has been rapid! I'm just a tiny bit sore at the incision site. The scar is hip to hip but it's tiny and below the bikini line.

If you ever want to talk, feel free to PM me. I'm pretty much an expert at this point.

I need help! If they took all the cancer out, where did they put the catheters for the radiation and why?
I figure if you had no more female parts and the cancer was removed, there'd be nothing left to radiate. :flowers:
