Has anyone used the Granberg Ripping chain???

is it that much better than a typical full chisel chain?

I can buy 3 full chisels for the price of one granberg chain.

A ripping chain is typically used when cutting lengthwise through wood as in making lumber not crosscuting like cutting firewood. A ripping chain has a different profile both of the face and rake...If you are cutting lumber it is well worth it.

Nope. I got ripping chain from milts. I used carbibe chain when doing a lot of cutting of muddy logs though. Pretty high priced but well worth it.

Milt's has a phone! He's computerized too! His number is: (301) 373-5904
Make sure you have either Anthony or Milt give you advice. Chris is good too, but he's more the computer person there. The others there, I'm not that familiar with. We have a logging company and so I am there alot. As far as the mud is concerned.... if you can get the mud off the bark before you run your saw through it, it'll stay sharper longer. Mud ruins a sharp saw faster than anything. Make sure you get the right files to go with your chain, you'll need them. Also, account for the wood drying after you saw it so it won't shrink too much after you make that trailer floor. You'd be surprised how much they'll shrink in width. Good luck with your trailer floor. :howdy:

Do you think that might be a bit of a heavy trailer?
