So Tomorrow I'm going to Chaperone my daughter's School Field trip to the Pumpkin Patch. I tried to do this last year, but I didn't make the cut; so this is my first time doing anything like this. How many of you have chaperoned a school field trip? What is it like, does anyone have any pointer???

Moe, chaperoning field trips is fun. Keep the kids from killing themselves and others, and that's about it.

Yeah, I think its going to be a blast; I’m just not sure about what to expect... I knew you guys would have a lot of good advice..:buddies:

Take hand sanitizer & baby wipes.

I’m a guy, we don’t worry about little things like hand sanitizer and baby wipes… You sound like my wife…. :lalala:This is a Daddy tirp……………:yahoo::dye::larry::cartwheel

But thanks for the suggestion..:buddies:

Make sure they all go to the bathroom before leaving!

Now that is some sound advice…… I’ll have to remember that tomorrow.

I've gone on many. Just went on one last week with my daughters 2nd grade class. I've always had fun.

Cool, so it’s a breeze….huh??

:roflmao: My kids teacher asked me to never come back

That is one of the things I’m worried about……I don't want to be asked NOT to come back.......

All thanks for all the advice; I’m really looking forward to going on this trip w/ my daughter’s class. I try and hold it down for all the fathers out there.. A lot of times we just leave these type of activities to the mothers……..

My husband LOST a kid on a field trip... He was still asked to come back and chaperone others... so you should be good :killingme

As a teacher I know the worst thing is when the parents act worse than the kids. Losing a child on accident (as long as you find them!) is a lot less annoying than parents trying to upstage the teacher or having inappropriate conversations around the kids. Also, don't pick a new agenda and just go off wherever you please. Even if it's with your own kid! That's just selfish because now the teacher has to spend his/her time worrying and looking for the runaways instead of giving the rest of the class attention. Chaperones are there to HELP the teacher and make it more enjoyable for the kids. Do what the teacher asks, help out wherever possible and watch your group. Field trips can be the most fun thing and they can be an absolute disaster. Nine times out of ten, this is determined by the attitude and maturity of the chaperones.

I know when I went on field trips they would always put two or three other boys with me, ( I have two sons). I dont know if they do it the same but you may have all girls in your group. Bunch of giggling squeeling little girls.
