Chaperone 1st Grade Field Trip??

I went yesterday too!

We went to Forrest Hall Farm with my 3 yr old's class. He had a great time in the corn maze and just playing with all the kids. It was really fun though I was disappointed in the "teachers". They checked us in when we got there and that was it! No class activities, no class pictures, nothing! Even when we went on the hayride, they chose to separate themselves and sit apart from the children. I've never seen anything like it.

I called and spoke with the director about it today, I hope they are more attentive the next time we have a school trip.

So Tomorrow I'm going to Chaperone my daughter's School Field trip to the Pumpkin Patch. I tried to do this last year, but I didn't make the cut; so this is my first time doing anything like this. How many of you have chaperoned a school field trip? What is it like, does anyone have any pointer???

...take a back back; wipes, couple bottles of water, maybe some sun screen, something fun like a squirt gun or duct tape, some trail mix.

I love back backs. Just so much easier to carry. Everyone is gonna get thirsty or hungry at some point and your group will be much happier if you've got just a little something. DO NOT LET the other kids (those not in your group) know you've got water and trail mix!

Camera?

Adding Diversity to SOMD
Well I had a great time yesterday on the Field Trip, my group was pretty well behaved. I had to set the ground rules on the bus ride to the Farm, just to make sure we were all on the same page. It was fun to see all the kids playing together... I will definitely be doing that again..
