This warm weather, has got me in the mood for some awesome cheeseburgers, on the old charcoal Webber. If only I could find some nice home grown tomatoes to put on them!!!! God, I don't know why I do this to myself.

First grill of the season last night - we threw steaks and asparagus on the barbie. Yum yum!

The vine tomatoes they sell in a bunch are no where near tasting like a home grown, but they are the best tasting this time of year.

I like the cocktail size Compari tomatoes. Closest I've found to a summer tomato. Giant has them, and sometimes Aldi for a lot less cost.

Been grilling all winter, one or two times a week. Doesn't need to be good weather to fire up the grill, but its much easier with the better weather. Had pork ribs earlier this week and a flank steak tonight.

We grill all year long, as well. It is easier to grill in snow, than rain! We always keep a back up tank. One never knows when a grill could be your only source of cooking, as in a power outage. Happy grilling, y'all!

We grill all year also. But only on the gas grill, I save my Weber charcoal grill for spring, summer and fall. My cheeseburgers were fantastic and hubby put baby back ribs on the grill yesterday.

I grill year round also and when we aren't grilling we have the smoker going. Not so much red meat and smaller portions now but nothing better than meat cooked on a good home made charcoal. We make our own charcoal using white oak. Get a burn barrel and get some seasoned oak in it. We cut our oak in to chunks and add them to the barrel a few at a time once the fire gets going. Get it burning hot and make sure every piece is on fire. Once it's full and everything is burning and the top layer is about 70% charred place a cover on the barrel and let it burn itself out. leave it in there for a day and remove your new charcoal. You know what's in it and it makes your food taste great. In a pinch the cowboy lump charcoal you can get at the hardware stores is good.

Last evening, cut a 2-pound sirloin in to three boneless filets and briefly exposed them to a very hot grill surface. Those, with some deep-fried oysters and green beans....mmmm mmm.

I got two be-yooo-tiful t-bones for tomorrow night. We'll do grilled mushrooms and asparagus with it, and some fried potatoes.
