Cheap Gas

I guess that's where I'll stop off tomorrow to fill up for my roadtrip. Gotta drive up to NY for a few days. I wonder what the gas prices are on the NJ Tpke - always cheaper than in NY so I refuel before leaving Jersey.
When I was up there 2 weekends ago, it was a littler higher than here, and only a few cents cheaper than NY (long island). I used to do the same thing, get fuel just before exit 10, but now my truck makes it from here to eastern LI on just over 1/2 tank.
Cheapest gas on the trip was Delaware near the MD border on 301, $2.04, everyone else $2.40 or better.

Thanks, you take 301 to 97 too? People keep telling me that's the "long way" but it only takes me 5 hours to get from central Calvert to western suffolk county LI (north shore, too). Seems stupid to take rte 4 to the beltway to the 95N.

Depends on the time of day and time of year. During holiday rush, 95 always backs up just before 295 into Delaware, so I might go 301 to 896 to 40 to 13 to the bridge. At this time of year, there's too much chance of deer hits on 301, so I go 301 to 97 to 895 to 95. Coming home, I look to see if 95 is backed up when you get over the Delaware bridge, and if it is I grab 13 to 40 to 896 to 301 and over the Bay Bridge. Oh, caution, lots of construction coming thru 895 to the tunnel to 95. I had a half hour backup there at 2am on a Friday morning.
I try to leave here at midnight to 2am, so I'm in NY for breakfast with friends.

Oh, the other thing I do is to get off the NJT early. You can get backed up at the bottom into the toll gates (if you don't have EasyPass). I get off at exit 7A to 195west to 295south. That takes you right into the Delaware bridge and avoids the bottom of the NJT. Don't try the same thing going North tho, strange and dangerous corners.

For every dollar I spend on food, I get 1 point. For every 100 points, I get 10 cents off the price of gas at their station. I had 400 points so I got 40 cents off their $1.96 price.

I have a $.30 discount on my acct for Safeway gas, and theirs is currently $1.79

Which Giant has gas? I prefer Giant to Safeway, but have been going there because of the gas rewards. Thanks.
