Hey guys the Golf course at lancaster park is finally done! I have installed 18 mach 5 baskets and heavy rubber tee pad with pretty nice signs! I am still working on finding a place to put my score cards and maps but the course is playable! Please come out and check it out.

Really!? There's 18?! Where in the park does the course start?

I saw one basket in the back corner of the park... but since I only saw one, I had just considered it a "putting green". It's nice to know there are 17 more somewhere... :)

Thanks for the info!

That's the practice tee, so technically there are 19 but only 18 "holes".

It's a good time :yay:

Are there any other ones in southern Maryland? I think I saw one basket at Piney Point Elementary School... are there more there too?

Well there are a few more baskets at Piney point but they are set up around the soccer field for the kids to play with. As far as other courses the closest one to here is 45 miles north. Thus the reason I felt so complled to build my own course here! HAHA Please thogh tell your friends and get them to come out and give it a run. 18 Mach 5 goals and one Mach 5 Practice basket. The first tee is located about 100 or so feet from the practice basket.

Sweet! My husband and I ordered discs last night. We haven't played since we lived up north. :) Thanks for working on this!

No problem, Im glad I could bring disc golf to this community! I have heard alot of people that want to play but cant afford to drive all the way to College park or others who just dont want to drive that far. (Me) So I figured I would build my own course. HA!

Thanks! I had a chance to briefly check out the course last night. I didn't get to play all 18, but it was fun. Definitely surreal to play through an abandoned neighborhood, but it's hard to think of a better place. The streets and yards just beg to be fairways.

Hey if anyone is interested I am holding the official Grand Opening Oct 20th (Tuesday not by choice) at 4p.m. There will be refreshments and a few people selling discs. Please come out and show your support. The course is located at the back of the John G. Lancaster park on the left hand side. If you have any questions you can contact me or by going to Professional Disc Golf Association and looking at the course directory.

Thanks Will

Fifteen years later I discovered disc golf. I love playing, LP gets a bad rap, but haven't seen a single problem in the park in the last few months I've been playing beyond people letting their dog poop on the course vs the dog park that's right next door.

Look at it like the frisbee version of water hazards and sand traps.

Back to my favorite song.

[Verse]
Stepped in the park, disc in my grip,
Frisbee in hand, cool, ready to rip
Crazy dude shoutin', walkin' all stiff,
Tent-bum's tirade, talkin' 'bout a spaceship

[Bridge]
Toe on the line, but the chaos commence,
Life feelin' wild, like a circus intense
Hobo askin' for change, man, not even a cent,
Park life crazy, city life twists and bends

[Chorus]
Lancaster Park, just tryna play,
Madness eruptin' in the light of day
Tent-bums and addicts, they all in the fray,
Frisbee flyin' while the world's in disarray

[Verse 2]
Druggies in the trees, peekin' like spies,
Eyes on the disc, but I ain't got the prize
Twisted tooth pirate, all bug-eye wise,
Talkin' to ghosts under overcast skies

[Bridge]
Bandana wrap tight, ready for the throw,
Dodgin' life's curveballs, exhaling slow
Tent city growin', watchin' their show,
Frisbee golf shadow plays, chaos in tow

[Chorus]
Lancaster Park, it’s a daily fight,
Tent-bums and hobos under twilight
Sparse green pastures, just a sliver of light,
Frisbee flyin', duckin' shadows in the night
