Dye Tied

Both my grandparents(both sets),drank it along with milk and lived to be in their 80's and 90's........but then they did not have some lab tech to monitor their diet......:coffee:

3 of my grandparents lived until 80, 88 and 93. 2 of the 3 drank red wine. Having a cup of tea is not the same as large glasses of sweet tea. If I gave a child a cup of hot tea I would water it down. But then I don't see many children sitting around sipping hot tea :pinkieintheair:

Has confinement issues..
How come she doesn't look this stuff up before defending herself?

Everyone knows you shouldn't let kids have tea, my freakin' pediatrician told me that years ago.

:ohwell:

Tea has more caffeine than coffee.:smack: A 2 yr. old does not need caffeine in their little body.

Actually, real iced tea has way less caffeine than coffee and less than caffinated sodas. I used to drink the stuff with my dinner growing up (the grandparents who raised me were from TENN-a-see ).

Not sure what that bottled stuff the fast food places use has in it, but consider you make a pitcher of iced tea with 4-5 tea bags it's pretty diluted compared to a regular afternoon cuppa. :coffee:

Look, I don't endorse young children having a steady diet of iced tea (sweet or not), but a little from time to time won't hurt them...jeezepeeze...:howdy:

Big deal. I fed my kids spoonfuls of sugar in their cereal bottles because they didn't like it otherwise. And I'd give them cooled espresso so they'd stay up and we could play (they're only young once, you know). Then, when I was tired of playing with them and wanted them to go to sleep, I'd give them a shot of Jack. Worked like a charm :yay:

Maybe you should switch to decaf :sarcasm:

Kris wondered why her kid puked. I saw what they had and maybe that's the reason...greasy food, tons of sugar and more caffeine than a 2 yr. old should have

Some folks just have to experience it.... I remember a 6th grade dance where they had all kinds of sweet cakes, pettie (sp?) fours, and I indulged, being the indestructible kid I was. Got me at 9 that night....... :barf: I learned...

Ya know, if it was just him that was sick I'd not have even thought about it... I've been nausiated since last night but figured it must be brought on by something else.

He didn't eat anything from Checkers. He had already eaten dinner by the time I had picked him up. I had a baked potato from Wendy's and a BLT from Checker's because I was craving a BLT and didn't feel like making one at home.

If you figure without ice the tea only is only about 16 oz of tea per glass (it's half filled with ice) and of that he drank maybe a total of 8 oz of tea. I drank about 4 oz and then sucked one of the chunks up the straw, went "what the heck?!?!" and looked at it.

He drinks hot tea too, but doesn't have this reaction.

He didn't "backwash" in to the straw because he wasn't eating anything when he was drinking from it. He had already eaten dinner.

Well, not knowing the body weight of the kid or the exact content of the tea we can't say for sure that caffiene is what made him sick. I'm obviously not a Checkers regular so I can't testify either way.

I drank homebrewed growing up and was fine. But I didn't drink large buckets of it and my grandmother never put alot of sugar in ours.
