Ok, I'll retract my statement and we'll go with the professional standard.......

the victims were chosen and singled out because they were vulnerable and easily influenced by the perpetrator

or because they were family and easily accessible.........

and don't forget "trusted"....more times than not, it's a trusted person that commits the crime......

New Defense tactic.

From now on, slash the tires of the prosecuting attorney - you get a guaranteed dismissal. Yay Justice!

That judge should be ass-raped.

I just do not understand why that has the right to decide a case if the lawyer is running late….I am not saying that the lawyer was right but there are so many reasons why that could have happened…... For some one in that position to make a statement like perplexes me. I think just I do not understand this correctly.

I will never understand why people don't speak up when the crime happens.

How about a credible threat of: "If you tell anyone I'll KILL YOU."

That might not stop an adult who knows how things work - and can defend themselves if necessary - but to a 10 year old kid, it's probably pretty effing persuasive.

Sorry - trying to squeeze in some work between posting. Getting through threads is slow going, and I gotta get my $0.02 worth in.

Poor parenting......the children should be taught to speak up when something wrong is being done to them.

Back in the day, I guess people didn't teach their children to tell them when someone does something like this to them.

What would you think if the molestor was one of the parents? Of an adopted child perhaps? Do you really think the other parent would believe the child over their spouse?

How many people do you personally know that had been molested as a kid? I can think of 5 off of the top of my head. 4 of which I'm very close to, and honestly, I'm suprised I know about 3 of them.

All 5 are rather intelligent women (not neccessarily the wisest). All 5 could easily be picked up as the type that wouldn't say a word. All 5 don't take much persuasion to get them to do what you want them to; since they just love to do nice things for people.

I think that alot of people that are the ones that really go out of their way being nice or want to do nice things for people were in one way abused or taken advantage of....not all but a large part.

Ah, but the elements of this case remain that, the victim is not a child niece, daughter, granddaughter and so on of an adult, but a child that was raped by another child.

With that said, I could think of a lot of reasons why a child would be traumatized and even block out an incident like this happening.

Still not the issue, really.

I do think an assload of what goes on behind the scenes in the legal system takes far place before the court room, so there is much we'll never know...

In any case, I would hate to be that child - after all that time with "hell" in her head, then having her "demons" disregarded... :ohwell:

I liked yor last statment. It burns me up thinking that the Judge made such a tacky and unprofessional comment like that, and to dismiss the case because of the actions of the attorney is not taking the particpants best interest into consideration. Could the attorney have just been removed or punished and the case rescheduled?
