Just caught the news that authorities have discovered the bodies of 4 children and had been dead for weeks. They had come to the home to serve an eviction notice and when the mother answered the door the agents smelled the oder of decomposition. Story is developing but looks pretty bad.

School absenteeism is so bad nobody in the schools tumbled to the fact the kids weren't in school? Street crime in the neighborhood is so bad the neighbors don't notice the kids aren't out and about in this warm weather? Maybe the fact the "Mayor For Life" is representing them explains it all. Since they keep electing him, they may not be too with-the-program.

Interesting note in the article - why are the US Marshalls serving eviction papers?

This story smells fishy... A LOT more to this to come...

Good point about the absenteeism. At least you'd thought after a few days somebody would have raised a flag about "where's the kids"? I guess it sometimes does take a village to raise kids or at least look out for them. Again a real shame.

DCPS just went back on Monday. Not sure how long they had out but I am sure it was before Christmas. I think the US Marshalls serve papers for the courts. I may be wrong on that but I remember hearing that.

It is really sad. I don't get some people. Such a shame, ages from 2-17.

Yup... Like she killed one and then a day or so later killed another

People like this make me sick... shoot her ass and make her an example so this shiat stops happening to innocent kids
I agree with death for her. But I think it would take more than one example to get this to stop. The good part, there are plenty of examples out there to help the cause.
It is too bad for the kids. Wonder what was up with the 17 year old. Didn't know any better to help the siblings??

This is really a devastating discovery. I am very interested in the medical examination findings because it's a mystery that no one noticed their presence was no longer existent. May their souls all be at rest.

The building they were found in is the exact same building my great-great-grandmother lived in during the late 70's early 80's. I would have thought those buildings would be condemned by now because of the conditions they were in at that time. I do not even remember the building having many bedrooms to house that many children either, granted they were all girls but 4 is a lot when my grandma's apartment was a 1br. Very eerie to think about.

The U.S. Marshalls have always served eviction notices in DC for as long as I can remember and that's mid 80's. Not that we were ever evicted but I've seen enough evictions in the hoods I grew up in.

I wonder what kind of family they were. Usually other children check on children or wonder what happened to them too. The 17yr old should have had some friends somewhere and there should have been an adult relative or parent of one of the smaller children's friends that thought their being missing was strange. There is definitely more to the story.

Correct and correct, my sister and nephew went back on Monday. The Mashalls are always on the premises when the stuff is being brought out.

I smell a Reason of Insanity plea.

I wonder what is actually done with those people guilty of homicide with this plea. Are they institutionalized for life or are they hospitalized (mental) until rehabilitated enough to go to jail or do they just get off after they get better.

Anyone know what has happened after so many years to those who pleaded this in the past for homicide and were found insane? Is it forever?

None of the children that lived in the house were enrolled in school.
