I made chili last night..it is such a cheap meal! Nicks has ground beef on sale and I got hte food lion brand "chili beans", hot seasoning mix, and rotel..for so much cheaper. Added a few diced jalepenos..and :drool:

I picked up chicken, sausage, onion and celery (plenty green pepper in the garden) for gumbo

I thought flank steak was also inexpensive meat (but also great for chili). Well, maybe not as inexpensive as ground meat maybe...


Our chili is simmering right now, though I got a late start on it. Another new combination of 'gredients, always good to wait and see how it turns out. Smells good. :yay:

My boring, yet savory and satisfying, chicken soup is simmering now and it smells outrageously good.

Great day for cooking. Chicken soup sounds fantastic for a day like today as well. Enjoy!:buddies:
