Chime in with your snow reports!

Just got in from some errands at 10:15pm, on 235 from Hollywood to California, 246 (Chancellor's Run Rd), and 5 in Great Mills. Everything was covered with VERY slippery snowpack. Nearly zero braking or accelerating or steering is possible. I watched one rear-wheel-drive car at a stoplight unable to get started up a slight incline on 246 without sliding straight sideways. But I didn't see any accidents; most people were being VERY cautious, and with good reason.

SMCPS, good call on the early school cancellation for tomorrow; there is no doubt it was necessary.

Surely you jest ...
Sticking everywhere and getting deeper. Its so white here in the hood, the neighborhood talent changed out their dress code. Just saw three walking down the street wearing white on white on white.

White after Labor Day, how gauche.

It is nasty out here at the moment. It is raining hard-most of the snow has been washed away. I'm only plowing slush. I can't tell from where I sit if the trees are icing yet.

Anyone know about then roads in Charles or Brandywine specifically? Husband just left on an emergency call having to go all the way to Tyson's Corner and I'm terribly worried. TIA

Here by SMCM, it's 35 and rain, down to less than 2 inches of wet sloppy slushy snow. No road reports, I've only walked the dogs :)

The drive to Andrews was a challenge. My normal 45 drive turned into 1 hour and 20 minutes. Rt 4 had unpredictable lane patterns. If you got two lanes, you never knew when it would go down to 1 lane, from the left or right. Pickup drivers thought it was a good opportunity to play NASCAR – BONEHEADS! The roads were completely slushy. No pavement the entire ride. It got worse on the left turn onto Suitland Pkwy and Forestville Rd. Andrews hasn’t really plowed anything. I couldn’t even find the entrance to the parking lot of my building. It was better than I expected though. I think the rain really eased things up making the roads more passable. But it’s still pretty hazardous and folks should stay home if they aren’t essential.

About 3", granular, has some moisture to it but, not snowball snow, not wet and heavy but, not light powder either. I just did the front porch with a broom. Coming down lightly, sounds like it is on the verge of sleet.

No power issues, very few cars out and about :buddies:

Snowing steadily, over 8" on the ground and it is still coming down, calling for 14 - 20 before it is done. :yahoo:

I got some slush on one of my boots walking to work this morning.

We got maybe an inch on St. George's Island before it changed to rain and washed half of it away and leaving the rest as a slush here and there.

Interesting... my sis is in Frederick and had passed the 12" mark before 7 a.m. this morning... still going strong for her. She might even make it to 2 feet before all is said and done.

Since I checked in, we added 6" or so. Plus, where I am, it is wet as hell under neath, melting. Been out for the last several hours shoveling and cleaning up. It's not very deep. It's getting wetter and it's not cold. Above freezing now.

Because it is not global warming anymore - it is climate change, which means some years temperatures could be below normal, other years above normal. Some years we could have more rain and/or snow, other years we could have a drought. You of all people Larry should know this! :buddies:
