I have the brush and do my own.
If you do this, remember to put plastic over the fire place opening and seal it with duct tape before rodding out the pipe.

I seal it, do the pipe then let it sit a few hours before I open the fire place and hit it with the shop vac.

I do it myself too, and forgot the plastic the first time as well.
I just figured it was time to have a professional take a look see just to make sure all was still well.

:yay: I think a person is better off doing their own. I keep my brush & rods assembled and just put it in the crawl space. My chimney has an outside access door and I have a 2.5 gallon bucket that fits in their just right so I don't have to tape off the fireplace. Bucket fits rather snuggly into the chimney.

As long as I do it a couple fo times each season I very seldom even fill up the bucket.
