I assume the Great Mills Tree Farm on Flat Iron Rd. is open... you could call them at 301-994-2735 to verify that.

Fastest 'here ya go's ever'. I should have known it would have been in the farm guide. Thanks!

Friendship Forest in Mechanicsville.

Bassford and then Friendship Farms are where we went for years. I was told last year at FF they had been sold and new owner was unsure if they would continue. If they are still a going concern that's where I will go!

I didn't know this. I always got my tree at FF, but I'm not putting one up this year.

We don't have room for one now.... When the kids were young, we always enjoyed the annual visit to Great Mills Tree Farm to pick out and cut a tree. Have not done that in many years though.

I used to do the same. I have the room, but not bothering for just myself

I went there last year...crap selection and weird employees that day. Got out and looked around looking for all the trees - they were all skeleton-like and really small and short. No other customers, 2 employees just staring at us. After 5 mins of poking around I finally asked them if this was the selection or if there was another field to drive to. He told me I was looking at it all, and went back to talking to his friend. So we hopped in the truck and left 🤷

Drove up to Friendship Farms after some googling and found an amazing selection with great help, and I said how awesome it was to find a cut/pick-your-own tree farm like this and an employee heard me and explained they were selling and weren't sure on the status for next year's trees :ohwell: go figure.

I wondered a bit about that. I once worked for a company that had two Christmas tree farms..large wholesale ones...so I'm naturally nosey about that sort of thing and could not help but notice that the fields there on Flat Iron were looking awful sparse lately. I know the owner..he had some health issues that really slowed him down for a few years but I know he's got some new hired help and was replanting again. Hopefully the business recovers..

When we cut our own, we went to a little tree farm down the street from Ted Koppels old house. Nice man, always enjoyed doing business with him. Don't know if he's still in business, but happy to recommend.

This was the first year that we went to a cut your own Christmas Tree. Found a place down off broomes island, rd. 3480 Crane Rd was the tree farm. They had several good ones to choose from and the kids picked the tree they wanted.

I can't think of the name of the farm... But we cut trees at the farm across the street from Johnny Parletts farm for years, on New Market Turner more so across from Johnny lll's home. Where the Farm Show was for years.
The two sons of the tree farm owner are DNR officers.. Good folks...
