Holy CARP it's nutz out there!! No parking spaces at HT, Giant was just as bad. Drivers are a bit Christmas stressed. And all I needed was a loaf of bread.

On another note... has anyone noticed the red pot bell ringers? Or lack thereof? I just realized I haven't seen them except for a few days just after Thanksgiving. Not complaining, mind you....
They can’t compete with the multitudes of amateur panhandlers.

The tree is beautifully decorated, the presents are all wrapped, and the standing rib roast is marinating. I'm doing a fair amount of baking today, too.

And I was diagnosed with shingles this morning. Ugh! I'll have to send Son to town to pick up my prescriptions.
Oh my! I hope it's a mild case! *hugs*

I have a breakfast casserole in the oven, because Thing2 has to work tomorrow and we're doing a "Breakfast for Dinner" Christmas Eve dinner. I made up the recipe from all the recipes I've had or tried. We'll see how it turns out!

Tomorrow, it will just be Thing1 and I, so I planned Rib-eye steaks on the grill, baked potatoes and broccoli cheese casserole.

For dessert on both nights, we're having "Butterscotch Fantastic" a refrigerator dessert.

I'm going to dinner with some friends tonight because it will be fun once I get there but I really hate leaving my house  I made carnitas for the feast tomorrow so all I have to do is heat them up prior to. I wanted to blow that off too but was shamed by my neighbor:

Friend 1: Vrai, what are you making for Christmas?
Friend 2: Probably some bullshit excuse why she can't come.

 :blushing:

Just sneakin' around....
Making a Polish kielbasa with sauerkraut and 'taters for tonight.
Almond Krinkle with coffee for b'fast. A beef roast marinating, tomorrow I'll sous vide it, then roast it. French onion soup for an app. Made it differently this time. Roasted some onions on the grill with a bit of onion soup mix and butter, then put those in a pot with beef broth. Orange Panettone for desert later.

Made some small snack stuff like deviled eggs.

Dinner tonight consisted of a steak and cheese, seasoned potato wedges with a ginger ale.

Still decorating the bathroom but nearly everything else is done. BF and I celebrate Christmas the w/end before, as he celebrates Christmas Eve/Day with his grandkids, but I'm doing an open house lunch thing tomorrow with a hodgepodge of whatever. He can make that. Surprised me with a really pretty pair of diamond earrings this year and one of those bird camera feeder thingys that I've yet to figure out. Oh and a box of Giribaldi Raisin Biscuits. I used to buy a box of them for my dad every Christmas because he liked them as a kid and I quit buying them when he died. Anyway told the BF about it and he bought me a box to split with my brothers. He's really good at touching my heart.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

My gifting this year was limited to the jars of smoked oysters we mail out. Nothing but quiet time today; the extended family arrives Friday and we feast on Saturday. Both my daughters are in Dublin for Christmas. My Norwegian son and all three grandkids are back at his childhood home for the holidays, taking the loooong drive home to Seljeset from Hommersak. I'll chill out in front of the shop woodstove at some point today, and share a beer with my youngest son.
