In My Opinion
JPC said:
:larry: I see that a big reason for this is that it was in Las Vegas and all of Nevada is directed around unGodly beliefs.

As God is my witness, I can not believe that I am going to say this but here goes.

to a large extent, I tend to think that JPC has hit on something that is a very real possibility.

If this speach was to have been made somewhere in the "Bible belt" say,, Lynchburg? I am willing to bet that she would have made the whole speach, and the students and parents would have stood and applauded her.

location means alot.

example. In the school my daughter just left, there was no problem at all in any reference to God, Jesus, Christmas etc... Had she been in school in Frisco, Im sure that the situation would have been much different.

Go ahead and burn JPC when he spouts his ignorant bile, but when he comes close to a real thought, give him credit for it.

I think the administration of the school district needs to study the Constitution. It is obvious that they, and many here, don't understand
Amendment I (1791)
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
Now the First Amendment only effects Congress, but so many want it to apply to all the states and to the counties and probably even McDonald's. But the First does establish the right of the people to the free exercise of religion; there are no limits to that right. The exercising of a persons religion can be done anywhere at anytime, and that means any religion, Christian, Judaism, Islam, or wicken.
