Cleanup Efforts Underway Following Papal Visit

God bless the USA

What is your point? Actually, you just verified your hate for Catholics, that others have said here. Anytime there is a mass demonstration/event whether it be the Pope or a Million Man March, welcoming a hero home, etc. There is always massive trash to pick up. Don't forget Ferguson, Baltimore, etc. Most Americans don't want to identify with pigs, but it is well established that they are amongst us.

So Catholics didn't go to the event and all of the trash was made by outsiders? The estimate by the news crew was 800,000 people attended the mass on Sunday which was more than on Saturday. The crowds weren't the 1-2 million that were expected to come.

So as far as outsiders that made the trash, I partly don't believe you.

No. I don't hate Catholics but if Catholics want to say they are Christians, they have that Constitutional right but the Bible gives me the right to judge other Christians. If you teach works or merit then I have a standard to judge by.

Romans 2:21 Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal?

If you teach works or merit and then litter on the streets then don't I have a right to say something?

Galatians 2:11 ¶ But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed.

Was Paul wrong when he blamed Peter?

Matthew 23:3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.

Was Jesus wrong for blaming the Pharisees in Matthew 23 and was Jesus wrong for calling them hypocrites?

Matthew 23:13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

Do I have the right now to properly use Matthew 7:5 against your conversation when you think that Catholics should be a protected group when they litter and that Christians who follow the Bible can't call it what it is?

Matthew 7:5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

Do you think that Paul didn't try to clean up the Corinthian church as well?

Galatians 4:16 Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

Yes, we are your enemy because we tell you the truth.

God is going to judge by His word so His word is like a plumbline and so far you aren't standing very straight by His word.

I'm a little lost... Is your thread about the trash or about the numbers in the crowd?

Do you believe protestants went to the event?
What about Jews?
What about non-believers?
What was the exact makeup of the event and who was responsible for the trash?

You know, I don't think there is any other 'leader' (Christian or politician, or national leader) that draws this sort of attention not only in the media, but also in the people. Does this bother you to the extent that you have to dredge up controversies to express your consternation with the Catholic Church?

I remember the Billy Graham crusade in the stadium and they brought trash bags so that we could clean up.

The Catholic church wants to say that the gospel is grace infused with works except that others have to work to clean up the trash from their event.

The paper is now reporting that the 800,000 number was flawed and there were more people but they can't provide proof because it is undocumented and probably impossible to count because there are no aerial photographs.

If they host an event, why aren't they responsible for it?

If this was an argument for salvation, they would say faith without works is dead except that everyone else had to work to clean up the mess from their event.

I am starting to believe that you are actually a MPD for someone who is virulently anti-religious and you purposely come across as a fulfillment of every stereotype of an intolerant, ignorant, and prejudiced religious zealot so that you can justify your own argument that religion is bad.

Jesus didn't always turn the other cheek and what it did was tremendous for victim's rights.

You misquote and seek to twist the words of God himself to your own meaning., Sad. He did not resist, he did not fight back, he simply asked the guard why he was struck by the guard in front of Annas, the father-in-law of the current high priest, Caiaphas. Not the first time you have selected a quote to support your beliefs and chose to only post part of the quote without the proper context. Admit it, you do not follow the word of Jesus and look for any justification to absolve you of guilt for not following it. Jesus said:"But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also." Mathew 5 The Sermon on the Mount. You really should read it in its entirety some day.

So, I have to extract from your reply, you're saying it was ONLY Catholics that were in attendance?
