Is this the MOPAR graveyard. My dad knows him and he took me back there a few times when I had a 70 Roadrunner to ask questions because I was told he was one of the only ones in the area that could set up a 6-pack carburetor. This was probably around 15 to 20 years ago and I can remember him complaining at that time the county was forcing him to do a cleanup. The last time I was there the place looked much better than it did the first time I visited.

John has some of about everything. And yes..he's a wizard with carbs and "vintage" high performance engine tech in general. The property was divided (10 years ago?..longer?..) and he consolidated his collection on his remaining part of it..and added the privacy fence.

Not only do I remember it....I always planned to pay a visit to check it out. And then it was gone...

That would have been what was traditionally called a "junkyard" where dead cars went. Not illegal at the time nor was it a problem until rural pioneers starting moving here to uplift us.

I'm waiting expectantly for the thread when the neighbor fires off that 40 foot wide burn pile.

They had a burn last fall and threw something on the pile which exploded and sent ashes everywhere. Someone ended up calling the police/fire department for that one - wasn't me. I did sit out on my back deck and watch the initial start up and fire only because it was extremely close to their house. Too close to their house for my comfort and I'm on the other side of the stream and woods ....


And their accumulation was a slow accumulation at first, I guess. :shrug:
It was only a few cars and boats and about a 20 foot tall burn pile last winter. My immediate neighbors and I don't collect cars/boats/burn piles so I don't have a good comparison for growth purposes.

I got most of a Nash Metropolitan out of there as a donor for my restoration. Haven't thought about that place in decades.

I could tell just from what I could see from Rt. 4 that there was a lot of vintage iron in that woods. I like restore about anything with an engine (cars, trucks, boats, motorcycles, farm equipment..) and I'm sure that places was full of potential projects.

There is a place on Rt 6, I think the owners last name is Burch. It has acres full of rotting cars and a pile of engine blocks. When I was working on my 70 RR years ago I purchased some bright work and a bench seat I recovered from a 70 RR with the original engine still in the car. Unfortunately the rest of the car was way beyond repair but he did have a special section of cars that he wouldn't part out because he was selling them as a complete package. The prices weren't bad for the stuff I purchased but I hear he thinks a lot of the complete cars he is selling. It might be worth a look if someone is looking for a project but don't go on the property after business hours because he has bulls that roam the property after he closes and I hear they are aggressive.

I have too many unfinished projects underway to want another total one..I'm getting old enough to be staring at what I still have to finish and it's daunting.(three classic boats, a TR3, a '72 Pantera, a '78 Bronco...a '69 Bronco..a '74 Bronco...a '78 F-150...it's a disease..) I am looking for a Ford pickup truck body though...anything from about '48 all the way to '66 would work. You think he has anything like that?

Some people move to St Marys so they dont have an HOA nazi report them for the length of their grass or the color of their shutters.

I am looking for a Ford pickup truck body though...anything from about '48 all the way to '66 would work. You think he has anything like that?

I can't say for sure. He seemed to have a little of everything but I was only interested in the MOPAR's so anything else was just a blur. It was also about 10 years ago the last time I was there so anything I saw could be long gone by now.

The kind of Ag property described in the OP typically doesnt have an HOA. People buy acreage so they can do whatever they want with their land.

Yep. I could never abide an HOA...wouldn't be able to do even half of the things I like to do on my property.
