Color laser printers: recommendations please

Katelin

one day the dark will end
I am in the market to purchase a high quality color laser printer.
My first mark is that is produces high quality color.
Second mark: Not too expensive for toners, both black and color.
Third: average PPM, color.
Fourth: Cost per page to go no higher than 11 cents for photo quality output.

I have looked at Dell and HP.

Any laser users willing to discuss pros and cons and what you would buy if price was under $2,000.

Thank!
Katelin

When our inkjet all in 1 died, we moved up to laser. Bought the Cannon All in 1 they sell at Staples.

Should have bought the HP. HP is more user friendly as far as settings go. But I would have needed to shop around to find an HP all in 1 color laser that printed double sided.

Problem with the Cannon is operator error. The DPI / color saturation on the Cannon setting is too low. It can be changed. I figured out how to do it once. Now I cannot remember how I did it, and it only worked for the job I was printing at the time. It defaulted back to a low resolution or "draft like" setting after I printed that job.

Since you want photo quality, do not get the Cannon.

Thanks Hunter...I also forgot to ask about "2 sided" printing. I don't need an All-in-One, as I have a great scanner and do not need a fax.

I am looking to purchase in January .....

Glad to be of help. We have limited space, so the all-in-1 is a requirement for us.

Lasers just don't have the same high output as a photo-quality inkjet. Go to Staples.com and look at the color laser specs, then compare with the inkjet.

It's a huge tradeoff, very high picture resolution (inkjet), or low cost per page (laser).

In My Opinion
Hunter, try clicking on the print setup and looking for the quality options. You should be able to click the higher quality and leave it as your default.
