Colored Bras w/ White Shirts-trendy or tacky?

I was in Wal*Mart a few nights ago and noticed 3 people with thin white shirts over their colored bras. 2 were red and one was black. It was so obvious. Now, my question is- is this a new trend? I've seen this alot in the past month or so. Everytime that I have seen it, it was on younger women(16-21ish). Why would someone want the world to see their bra?

I've seen this a lot, too and wondered the same thing, sockgirl. I had a friend who searched high and low for tank tops for her 14 year old daughter that would cover up her bra straps. The daughter did not appreciate it -- telling her mother her new, multi-colored bra straps would not show with those tops. She ended up exchanging them for ones that would let the daughter show off the bra straps. Go figure! At least girls are wearing bras now . . .

My kid would have been SOL because there is no reason for a teenager to have showing her bra on top of her fashion priority list.

Tacky! I've noticed that even a white bra is too bright for a white shirt. Instead, try to wear a natural/nude colored bra under a white shirt. It will significantly lessen the appearance.
