Thanks for the info guys! I do not own a boat and am a terrible swimmer (hence the beach or pools. :p ) saddening to live surrounded by water an none of the pretty places are public anymore. I've been to myrtle point before, little stagnant and lots of ticks. But its better than nothing I suppose! I was going to check out elms beach but brush up on my spanish?. . . Count me out then. No offense haha my spanish ends at no habla?hablo? Espanol...

Point Lookout State Park has a beautiful beach.
It costs to get in but worth it. You can also buy an annual pass that's reasonable.

I am disappointed that the beach season only lasts about a minute around here, before the jellyfish come in and make it impossible to swim.
Recently I was chatting with a friend and we thought that it would be so much nicer around here if they would carve out some beach area with jellyfish netting, or something. I would love to spend more time in the ocean water instead of the pool, but not with the infestation that seems to happen here every year.

I need a little help from you locals of the county. Does anyone know if any of the beach at Colton's point in MD is public?. I know their is one dock that is public but it seems everytime we've tried to go there someone is telling us whatever part of the little bit of shoreline we are on is private property.. Just wondering if the actual dock is the only public part or if there is some of the beach I can visit where I wont get yelled at.

If not......... Do any of you have any good suggestions for any local beaches/shoreline that could be visited?... Seems as though unless you have the money to buy a house on the water here in Maryland you get stuck with the stagnant water areas like Myrtle Point. Just wondering if there were any places like Coltons point that were public besides Point lookout etc...

Unless someone has a pool they want to share???? :p I'll bring the :buddies:

Thanks for any info!!! :) just need some swimtime and lost all my good contacts I kept for their pools! hehehe

Check out Flag Ponds Park. You have to walk a lil bit to get down to it, and then uphill back...but it is a pretty natural sandy beach with little tidal ponds to explore and it is right on the bay for nice breezes. Never seen more than 30 people there either!!
