:tantrum One of the comcast cable guys knocks on my door and is looking for a particular house. My wife asked for the house address and he was not sure but said this person wanted to disconnect cable service. NExt thing you know, he goes up the pole and disconnets my cable and leaves. I called comcast and they are trying to figure out which guy did it to make him reconnect my service.
My son will be lost if it does not get back on. I pay 50 bucks for basic plus service. I am seriously thinking it may be time to switch to Direct TV.

That really bites, hope the problem is corrected soon. FYI, GMP is raising their prices so I'm sure Comcast will as well to compete.

Wife just called and cable is back on. :yay: I called the company and cancelled the technician coming. Wife said our two year old turned the VCR on and made all the channels on the TV become static. My wife was to embarrassed to call so I made the called and left a message. :duh:

We don't compete w/ GMP. Nothing to compete with.

We don't overlap our service area anyway.

Glad you got that straighted out! Would love to know who knocked on your door anyway!

The little tyke got revenge for ya, revenge on the cable company for having somebody underqualified for work in the field.

DirecTV - no more problems.

Yeah. We used to have something -- Dish Network maybe? Is that a thing? Anyway, during the winter we had great reception but as soon as the leaves came back, no networks. I can't live like that so I whined until we got digital cable with the super-snazzy internet hook-up. That's the best thing EVER!!! We even got rid of our phone!!!
:thewave:

We have Direct TV. No complaints at all. Rarely ever goes out. Has to be one heck of a storm for it to go out, and in that weather, the cable doesn't usually work either. I want to say that the worst we ever had it, was when it was out for 45 minutes after Isabel.

Absolutely! I love DirectTV. We never lose it and IF we do, it's only for a very short time like during a very heavy rainfall. :yay:

:yeahthat: My dish is even aimed at trees and I still get signal strength in the high 90's.

My biggest problem is that I don't want to pay the big $$$ for DirecWay and I can't get cable or DSL :bawl:

Unfortunately, ours is on the front of the house, aimed over the trees in the backyard. Would've rather had it on the back of the roof, but then it would've been pointed at the underside of the treetops. I can get over it being on the front. I am not on the internet enough at home for ME to care about DSL vs. dialup.

Our DirecTV bill is $42.99, it has gone out 3 times in the 5 or 6 years we've had it, and I'm using DirecWay for my internet. It goes out more frequently than DirecTV in bad weather because it's 2-way via satellite, but the speed is fantastic. I wouldn't do business with a cable company again if I could avoid it. As a matter of fact, I would do without any TV at all before I'd allow Comcast or GMP to have my business. They have "service issues." :lmao: I've never had another service of any kind that ripped me off so consistently.

We have Dish Network and have only lost it a couple of times. (Major storm etc.) Never lost it during Isabel though. I'm waiting for Dish Network to offer satellite internet along with their digital receiver before I upgrade. This should be a cheaper option than a dish for TV and Direcway.
