Comcast to end Analog

Comcast will be ending analog cable service in Calvert. Cheapest digital service is 79.95. A $30.00 a month increase over analog. Thanks commissioners.

You should research more. Did you call the cable company directly? There are specials always going on.

Analog TV doesn't go bye-bye until February 2009. So you're good 'till then right?

Currently, according to Comcast, Enhanced Digital TV would cost you an additional $1.00/mo for your 1st dig. box and then $2.95/mo for each box after that over and above what you're currently paying. That gives you channels 2 - 82, on demand, music & an on screen guide.

Doesn't sound like a HUGE increase to me, but that's just my opinion. :coffee:

As usual, the main office of Comcast has confused the issue. I had to get my truck emissions tested today so I went by the local Comcast office and turned in my old analog box and got the correct information. The lady there was real nice, said that she has been flooded with calls that comcast hdqrs. had called and said that customers had to switch to digital. This is false. Comcast will broadcast all channels in digital quality after April 2009. If your tv is digital you don't have to do anything. If it is not digital you will need a box for each set. I don't know when Tvs were produced that receive digital signals. (date) So the most my cable bill would go up would be 24.00 for 6 boxes. Oh well, guess I'll ditch the cell phone.

Comcast keeps calling me and offers free "On Demand" boxes to be shipped in 3 days. They never come. The current offer is three boxes and that was two weeks ago. The young lady in the office on Theater Road seems to be the only one in Comcast that can give intelligent answers. That company is going to hurt when FIOS is available.
