Commissary closing tomorrow

On facebook, they just said after today they will be closed.

So they are trying to sell as much as they can, nothing is discounted.

I have a feeling it is going to be PACKED today. With today being military payday, and people trying to get things before they close for an undertimined amount of time? The shelves will be cleaned off.

Hubby was notified that as of 11:59 pm last night, he was to cease and desist working and pull the crew out of the commisary. He is a contractor, not sure if this will affect the commisary hours, but, if no one is there to receive the trucks and stock the shelves, not sure what will be on them to sell.

Just spoke to someone at the Exchange and they're going to be open and remain open during the shutdown. Why the exchange and not the commissary?

I'm not sure, but, could it be most of the commissary personnel is actually contracted?

Yes they are closing tomorrow, normal hours today.

Commissaries are funded by Congress from the DoD budget. Most employees are civil servants.

The commissary is normally closed for business on Mondays. Doesn't mean the employees aren't there at work.
