Compromised Bank Account?

They had it posted on their website, but ONLY if you logged on to PCU. I just happened to trip over it one day. No other notification.

From the Credit union page.

An unauthorized access to a third party processor’s database caused a number of our Visa Debit cards to possibly be compromised.
This processing plant is the “middle man” for transmitting transactions and getting approvals to businesses. We are doing everything we can to notify those members involved and order new cards for them.

If your card was involved you will be receiving a new card and a phone call.
There are no known fraud cases at this time, we are trying to prevent them by being pro-active.
All cards that were involved in this incident will be shut down by March 13, 2009.
We are not able to search the list for specific account numbers. If you are involved you will be contacted.

Both the wife and I got new cards. She had been called, but I hadn't.

Where are my pants?
It's not just local to Southern Maryland.

My husband and I just got replacement cards from Bank of America (due to accounts having been "compromised"), and we have lived in Florida for almost a year now...

This would not be happening to you if you banked with wonderful BB&T! HaHa I am just kidding. All banks have really beefed up their fraud prevention departments. It is a headache to have to deal with all of that, but think about it. Would you rather not be able to use your card for a few days, or have someone overdraw your account enough to start ruining your credit? These kind of things happen all the time. With a bank as large as Bank of America it would probably just take too many resources to call each and every customers every time something like this happens. They have Millions and Millions of customers.
