Confused about stopped school bus protocol?

What's the protocol when the driver is having a chat with an adult outside the bus, door open and lights on?

They don't need to go to school anyway, they can just work at PAX.
That can only last while Steny's in office. When Pax closes 5 seconds after his departure, what will all the poor, uneducated, unemployed and unemployable children do! Oh, the humanity! I suppose they can be used for crab bait, or maybe sold in that D.C. pizza restaurant.

I am a non-PAX worker however, I must say....

I think he was suggesting running over the bus driver.....
Yep, kids are all loaded and the bus driver is chatting.
Sorry, I think kids should be fair game if they can't move their ass fast enough to get on the bus.

do I need to add :sarcasm: ?

How many of you remember taking the bus to school?
How many of you "missed" the bus because you weren't at the stop waiting - even though you were running, if the last kid was on the bus, the driver closed the door, they didn't wait for you. You learned real quick to get up and out the door to meet the bus.
My bus stops moved around, one was well over a quarter mile, closer to a half mile away in the development.
Hot or cold, wet or dry, you made it there, nobody gave you a ride and waited at the bus stop either - guess what, we lived.
We also learned early on a bit of humility, the world did not revolve around us, even if your nickname was sonny.

And there wasn't any stopping at each driveway when they are within 25-50 yards of each other.

The only school bus that ever stopped at my driveway was the late late bus, (after sports) and then it was a long ride because one bus covered a much larger area, not just my neighborhood. Since I was the only one getting off at the next stop, the driver did me the favor of stopping in front of my house as he was passing by - he didn't differ from the route.
If there had been anyone else on the bus, I would have been hiking back up the hill in the dark carrying books, instrument and dirty clothes.

That drives me crazy here in town where kids are picked up at every intersection. I understand little kids, but high schoolers? No house is more than a couple hundred feet, if that, from a stop and you still have parents driving their 16 year old to the stop. And waiting there for the bus to arrive.

I just love how kids, who basically live next door to a school, are picked up by a bus. I really don't know how I survived living on a base and having to walk, what took about a half hour, because there wasn't any buses.

No sidewalks is what I heard.

That's why there is no walking to Green Holly, no side walks. Doesn't stop the kids after school though.
I think we had sidewalks on all the major roads, but not all the residential streets. There was no designated route to walk, so if we took the shorter route, through a neighborhood without sidewalks, it was on us. Unlike Wildewood, there were no bike or pedestrian lanes painted on the street.

You're still not allowed to run over the kids.
I'll bite, what about the parents or kid that can't seem to get there head out of there phone long enough to get on or off the ****ing bus?
Are they fair game to run over?
