Not sure if this is going to affect things like Leprechaun Lilly and other children's consignments but it sounds like it may.

New safety rules for children's clothes have stores in a fit - Los Angeles Times

Barring a reprieve, regulations set to take effect next month could force thousands of clothing retailers and thrift stores to throw away trunkloads of children's clothing.

The law, aimed at keeping lead-filled merchandise away from children, mandates that all products sold for those age 12 and younger -- including clothing -- be tested for lead and phthalates, which are chemicals used to make plastics more pliable. Those that haven't been tested will be considered hazardous, regardless of whether they actually contain lead

This is a REALLY bad law.

Every product that COULD come in contact with a child is covered by this law. Can you think of a single product that you can guarantee will not come in contact with a child? I didn't think so. Neither can I. Say good bye to all home based businesses that produce a product.

I know. There is a link one the one site to write your congress person about amending the law. A lot of my friends and I are big on the handmade stuff ESTY.com and stuff like that will be greatly affected if it is still around.

The idea for this law is a great one but they blew it WAY out of proportion.
