Contests, photohunts, or other???

Hey, Is anyone interested in doing some more photo contests/challenges, another photo scavenger hunt, or something of these sorts?

It is getting into late summer so we will only have another month or so of nice shooting weather. So I figured this would give us a chance to get out and take some pictures again.

So lets hear for everyone that wants to get out and take some pictures. What do you all want to do?

If you have a suggestion post it!

I wasn't part of the last scavenger hunt BUT I REALLY want to do one. So a scavenger hunt is my vote :)

Phyxius won last time and was supposed to set up the next one if there was enough interest. I've not seen her online lately and am guessing she's been buzy taking pictures at various horse shows? I think JBR or someone should contact her about it. If she can't, maybe someone else will.

Save the Tatas!!!
I'm in. Only thing I have to say is that if its a scavenger hunt it would be nice to have a week to get it done. I was running all weekend last time.

I don't have a problem doing another scavenger hunt at all. As for the time frame, my impressions of most hunts were always a list of items that it's almost impossible to get all the items in the allotted time frame. Usually many items and a short time frame. Do people want to do a list of hints to specific places/items they have to find and photograph, a list of items that are open to interpretation, or a mixed list and a few items thrown in that help develop camera skills?

My thought is a mixed list that also helps develop camera skills. This lets everyone play, and people can go for most points, just for fun, or concentrate on their photography. We could try two winners again, one for highest point total, and one for best photographs.

Suggestions and comments welcome!

That suggestion sounds like a winner to me....

I think the short time frame is part of the challenge. Really with the list being posted Firday night and ending Sunday night, that should be enough time to get most if not all items. I shot only on Sunday last time and managed to get a majority of items from the list.

:pete: I won with her!!! Phyxius was setting one up for Calvert, but I think interest dropped off and nothing came of it.

Ok, another question!!!

How many people are planning on using a camera the does NOT have Manual mode, Aperture priority, and Shutter Priority?

Please let me know.

I would be using my Nikon CoolPix L15. It basically does everything for me. I don't even know if I could manually set anything on it!! :lmao:

Well that kind of leads to my other question. Do we want to do a hunt again like discussed, or something a little different that would help people use the Manual, Shutter, and Aperture priorty modes?

For example

Subject would be "Moving Car", and with that I could give you "Use Shutter Priority with a high shutter speed...ie 1/1000"

Or a subject with a blurred background, and give you Aperture Priority with a open aperture...ie F2.8 to F 4

Just another thought.

I think if we HAD to use a certain settings for a scavenger hunt, it would narrow down the playing field a little to much
