Controlling my out of control Teen

There comes a time in every teens life where they decide that they are not only smarter but better than their parents.

This is the natural progression. However, some teens take the game slightly to far. This is the case, with my beautiful princess. After much time and thought I have decided to instill in her the importance of respect.

While some may find this drastic, I am certain others will appreciate it!

1998 Ford Ranger Excellent Condition. Purchased from dealer and passed Inspection less than one Month Ago. New Tires JVC CD player. Great Truck! Was a Gift for ungrateful teenager, must go!

Anyone intersted please PM me..... This is not a sales pitch. I hope to empower all the parents out there with ungrateful mouthy teens to take back control! :diva:

Sounds to me as though you are sending a message... A practice that is lost on most parents now a days... Good on you... I applaud you...

Sounds like she needs a wake up call, maybe this is it...:yay:

But wait, there's more...
Damn, Sleuth shoulda held out.

Gotta hit 'em where it hurts! :yay: A car is freedom ... if a kid won't respect his/her own life-givers, they don't need extra freedom to discover bigger and better ways to disrespect 'em! :ohwell:

Ya know, I went through a somewhat mouthy stage, as do most, but I never showed my mom any disrespect. My brother never did either. My sister, who is now 17, is a total biatch to her and my mom has no cajones to stop it. I haven't heard it firsthand, but when I do, its on like Donkey Kong. There is no reason for any child to EVER disrespect their parent(s). Good for you Kain, I wish my mom would do the same thing.

Kain, just think...in about ten years, she'll be out of your hair and treating some man the same way she treats you! :yay:

Bless you for giving her a vehicle to begin with. When I was a teen, I was told that if I wished to drive to get off my arse and buy one myself. My first car was a hoopty, but a reliable hoopty that I learned how to keep going. I had wished my dad would buy me a nice car like the other kid's folks did but I can thank him today for teaching me this lesson. The other kids did not respect their vehicles at all. Come to think of it, the kids who worked to buy their own cars were the only ones that still had them at graduation. The ones that had been handed to their owners were long since blown up or wrapped around a tree somewhere.

Thanks Dad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:notworthy:

I had to buy my first car. My father agreed to match me half of what I could save. I saved and saved and then received a small inheritance from my Great-Aunt. My first car was a 1967 Camaro. :yay:

My mom bought mine because she needed me as a taxi for my sister and brother and their after school stuff. Dad had just moved out and she just couldn't do it all. I got a job and paid her what I could after I paid for gas, lunch money and any money for school stuff.

My parents gave me a car, but it was nothing to write home about. My mom got a new car and I got her leftovers, which was a 91 Cavalier...made me want to go out and buy my own, which I did. :yay:

Kain,

I got a good chuckle out of this. Don't get me wrong ... as a parent, I agree 100%. But ......

My parents bought me a brand new Chevy Chevette when I was a junior in high school. I really never abused it .. that much. But when I graduated from high school and hooked up w/ this guy ... I just lost my mind I guess.

I spent more time at his house than mine and my Dad wasn't too happy. I came home (his apt) from work one day to grab a shower and go pick my boyfriend up from work. When I got out tot he parking lot ... the chevette was gone!!! Good thing Michael had his truck there. The next day I went back to my parents house and on my dressers was a note ...

She had fun, fun, fun until her daddy took her Chevette away.

:killingme:

I wasn't laughing at all back then, but it brings a smile to my face now!!

My dad had a cool technique to teach me to value what I had. I saved my cash working as a kid to buy my first car. I saw many I wanted to buy but he veto's all of them and told me he would go with me to buy the car. Finally in the fall we hopped into the truck and took off to look for cars but instead of heading into town he headed out to the country. We drove up to my uncles place and there it was, a 1969 VW bug with weeds growing up around it, NOT what I had hoped for. I paid my uncle $300 and we hooked a tow bar to it and drug it back to the shop. He handed me a sheet of paper and we started making a list of what we needed. As the weeks went on we wrote down the prices of parts. We tore that thing down to a skeleton and painstakingly rebuilt it. Brakes, engine, shocks, tires, gaskets, cables sanded the body down to bare metal. Each step of the way we made parts trips and I paid for the parts. He painted it, 5 coats of candy apple red and in the end I had $250 left and one cherry car, except for the red, yellow and black sculped pile carpet I used instead of regular automotive carpet. Since I had to dis assemble it, buy my own parts and put it back together, 1. I never hot rodded it much because it was my parts I was breaking. 2. I knew how everyting worked and how to fix it. 3. What a pain in the ass it was to fix things that broke because I was a goober.
