Controlling my out of control Teen

There comes a time in every teens life where they decide that they are not only smarter but better than their parents.

This is the natural progression. However, some teens take the game slightly to far. This is the case, with my beautiful princess. After much time and thought I have decided to instill in her the importance of respect.

While some may find this drastic, I am certain others will appreciate it!

1998 Ford Ranger Excellent Condition. Purchased from dealer and passed Inspection less than one Month Ago. New Tires JVC CD player. Great Truck! Was a Gift for ungrateful teenager, must go!

Anyone intersted please PM me..... This is not a sales pitch. I hope to empower all the parents out there with ungrateful mouthy teens to take back control! :diva:

if the car is in your name just take the keys away and tell them that if they take the keys it grand theft auto. being a hard azz now will save them a whole lotta lumps later

You ever heard of "figure of speech"? I think pete's refering to the car as "cherry" because he and his dad rebuilt every square inch of the thing, from the wheels on up, ie., "it was in cherry condition", but not  virgin!

I had to buy my first car. My father agreed to match me half of what I could save. I saved and saved and then received a small inheritance from my Great-Aunt. My first car was a 1967 Camaro. :yay:
Man, brand new camaro for your first car. Must been cool.

only way they respect a car is that way
:yeahthat: I started saving when I was 13, but I was working in a gas station at the time. So by the time I was 16 I knew how to work on cars and bought my first one. 1970 Chevelle. Wish I had it today. Forgot to mention that it was only 3 years old when I bought it, but it was still cheap enough for me because it was a flood car. Had to gut the interior and clean up the engine, but it turned out to be a great car.

Dont you love it when they're old enough to drive? Something tangible you can take away if they don't act right.

Since she was in CA I bet it was 2 San Jose's and a Palo Alto.
With the needed height I am sure they just had a couple overnighted for her.

The local material was the redwood shoe extensions needed for her to reach the pedals once she could see over the dash.

My parents made my brother buy his first car, a 1975 Monte Carlo. Then when he was ready for another, they gave him what he paid for the car towards another one, and gave me his hand-me-downs. They paid for my insurance and gas, on the condition that I regularly drove my grandmother and another older relative around wherever they needed to go. And I had to drive my kid brother to his afterschool activities.

By the time I'd done all that, I wasn't up for driving around town or cruising the parking lots.

Then, just before I went to college, my dad showed up at my work one day and sold the car out from under me for less then my brother had been offered for the hubcaps.

 You know, I might have it all wrong, but I can imagine Rose wearing those extra thick platform shoes to reach the pedals!

Good thing she wasn't short-sighted:cheers:

Actually our son decided he WANTED to rebuild his own truck. He found and bought an F100 truck that RUNS and has been kept in a barn all it's life (500 bucks)...and he's redoing it part by part. He adores that truck, it's all he talks about. He'll be so proud of it he won't ever scratch it, he says. Yet he doesn't mind scraping close to the tree branches along our driveway in his dads huge F350 or my Lexus!! :burning:

Hey Vrai...one more point for the boy....he's HANDY AND knows how to use a shotgun...does the dowrey still come with the girl? :killingme
