NY Avenue in the morning is a PITA.

I got stuck in that crap too. They closed alot of roads down near the White House around 7:30am because of a "suspicious package" again. At this point, next suspicious package they find, I'm half tempted to offer to open it just to avoid all the headaches and so I can get through to work as I normally do. Its ridiculous. :cussing: They even had police helocopters circling over the WH. :roflmao:

I dunno, I was at my desk at 7:30. You need to be reprogrammed. You use a very convoluted way to get to work.

I know... On the way in to work some mornings, I sing "over the river and through the woods to ______ 's house I go"  That time of morning, it has to be so convoluted that no one else thinks of it as the most practical way to get from A to B. Thereby trying to avoid traffic snarls. It just takes a year and a day to get from A to B and involves driving through some seedy neighborhoods. Note, I didn't offer suggestions on how "I would" get to the convention center

You can't get much more crowded and traffic snarled than 17th Street. :lmao:

I know, especially now that they have blocked one lane to put that freakn' smoke shoot in the middle of the road over the manhole cover by the Old Executive Office... everyone has to change lanes into one then get back over to avoid this 5 foot black tubular chimney looking contraption. Each day I keep hoping they have it removed. But its all good, I'm not on it too long, I cut over onto G Street then. :yay:

I see your point though and I'm starting to understand why my old carpool didn't like for me to drive on my assigned day. I thought it was because of a misunderstanding we had. I tried going their way once, they told me to go straight when we reached DC then they fell asleep. I didn't know they were asleep and I kept driving straight. They woke up about 30 minutes later and grouchy :cussing: when I had almost hit the beltway near 16th and EastWest Highway (?)
