Try importing a few black snakes. They increase the competition for food, and the copperheads generally move along. Having black snakes around will also keep the rodent population in check as well.

My grandma puts moth balls all around her house...it keeps them away....they smell horrible, but no snakes.....:shrug:

There were two at our old place. Havent seen one yet so far at the new place. I will tell you this though- that when they feel threatened, must be all the time- because as soon as we opened the door on that one... it struck immediately!
