I'm anxious to try something upscale in Southern Maryland!!! No offense to anyone on here but....it's about time they have a restaurant that has good food and you wear something besides jeans and a t-shirt/sweatshirt.

I went there wearing a jacket and tie and did not feel out of place.
I went there wearing a dress button down shirt this summer and did not feel out of place.

If you went there wearing jeans and a T-shirt you should feel out of place, but they are very nice and would probably seat you anyway if you had a reservation.

The last paragraph was supposed to be :sarcasm:

Well, no, if the place is the type that "should" be a dress shirt, sport coat, tie, or dress slacks, pantsuit, skirt, I would feel underdressed showing up in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. Were not talking crabs and beer by the water. You would be surprised how many people show up to places of that sort in jeans and a t-shirt.

I see hoochy mama wanna be's in church every Sunday, so no I wouldn't be surprised at all.

Yeah, I have too on occasion, and it is just disrespectful. I have issues with people like that. They just have the :1bdz: attitude about everything.

Maybe in the circles that you travel in. Oh was that supposed to be a joke?

Was mostly a joke and slight truth as I just tried Lenny's after the new remodel (which is fabulous) and half the patrons were in the the traditional So MD garb of NASCAR t shirts, jeans and Skol hats. I grew up here and hated being surrounded by SMIBS so I left asap and have been living in FL for the last 15 years or so.

Just came back recently to see only a little has changed. I noticed some indicators of a slight shift upward in demographics but "sothn marrrylnd" is still alive and well. lol

If you know of circles here that appreciate wine/port, cigars, scotch and the likes, please let me know because I have yet to find them. :)

Although Rob at Blue Wind is very cool and so is his place.

I was at a recent wine tasting in Leonardtown and one gentleman actually proudly and sincerely mentioned his preference for "Boones Farm" over the wines being tasted.....????????????????

My wife and I went there.

Food was excellent.

The service was outstanding.

We had an appetizer, soup, salad, main course, and dessert. Our server always stopped by to make sure that we were enjoying our meal. She made sure that our glasses were always full etc.

For the evening the bill ran $150 including tip. A little pricey, but the food and service more than made up for the price.

My wife and I found a new place to eat and is going on our short list.

I highly recommend this place.

also great for parties

We had an surprise birthday party for my grandmother there a few weeks ago and it was wonderful!!! We had about 40 people in the large upstairs room, buffet style food, two or three servers and everything was great! Wonderful food, great service, grandmas 80th birthday party went off without a hitch! I would definitely give them a try for a nice sit down dinner.

I'm in the restaurant business and I can say with pride that this guys have done an incredible Job. Best restaurant in Southern Maryland!!! Leo and his staff are great, the food fantastic and the service and building rock!!!
The kitchen is impecable and Cheff Roger and Jose bring to this comunity the flare of authentic home made high quality food that I've been waiting for.
A Must try!!!
I wish Corbels great success.
Wow I missed this post! Very impressive coming from another chef!
Yumtastic!!!

Went there for a lunch date today and it was excellent!!!

I had:
Breton Bay - Marinated and Grilled Chicken breast, Oven Dried Tomato, Fresh Mozzarella, Basil Pesto on Ciabbata, Fries - 9.25 w/ a cup of clam chowder... which was delish

my lunch date had:
Spicy Chicken Pasta - w/ chicken, andouille sausage, yellow & red peppers w/ linguine tossed in a spicy tomato cream sauce - 14.50

I must say that his entree was phenomenal!! I will definitely be ordering that the next time I go.

We shared the chocolata banana mousse cake for dessert and it was sensational!!! I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Anyone been recently?

Corbels = closed

Told ya so! lol

No circles in the area that even know what a bechamel is, confit or rendering, etc.

Was not a joke, just pointing out the obviouos that So MD is not ready for that style and level of cuisine and those price points. At least not any time other than special occasions and Korbels closing is just the proof. And not the economy because Lennys and Outback, etc. have mid/high level price points are always packed.
